I'm a firm believer that drunk drivers should be executed on the site....

I still can not believe how that drunk driver nailed the door straight on. as you can see cars passing by the side? Strong door Steven and I trust your insurance claim proceeds with no problems.

Its not really straight. Here is how it started, He first jump onto the sidewalk across the street. On that sidewalk, he hit a mail box, then a fire hydrant. Then vared(spelling?) towards the store. Actually no driver was on there when the police arrived. So the police found the owner of the van and questioned who had it? He said he let someone borrow it, but didn't know the person. So they told the owner its his car and he's responsible. He is being brought up on a laundry list of charges.

The store has almost been hit three other times in the last 28 years. Once a guy hit the stop light in front of it. Another guy flipped over in front of it. And just last year a lady hit the tree in front of it. Its time for some barriers.

I just spoke to my father who is at work today with the insurance guy and alarm people. He found out the driver has admitted to who had the car. But only after it was long enough for the guy to sober up.

Either way, the owner is probably in deep doodoo, at least with his ins carrier ... good !!

I like how the cars in the background keep moving, like this is a normal thing to see in Mass.

I guess if they can elect Ted Kennedy for decades, maybe it is.

Does that driver get out of the passenger side, then walk to the other side of the street, then stroll back casualy and open the drivers side to get something out? All the while other cars drive by and none stop to help? Seems like there are some witness's if they can be found. If the driver left the scene before reporting it to police he is guilty of additional charges. Under the influence should be the least of his worries. I bet the guy had outstanding warrants as well as probably driving on a suspended license. He left the scene for fear of other implications.

Sorry for the hassle Steve. Something like this unfolds over time and the total chaos cannot be measured immediately. Glad you had a video system to catch it all. Hopefully the LEO folks get this guy off the road for a nice long stay at the local jail.

I had something similar happen to me once. I was working with a buddy at his frozen custard shop we were stripping and waxing the floors. We took all the stainless steel tables they use for preparing the ice cream and what not outside just infront of the store to make it easier. as soon as I step back in the door this drunk teenager wipes out all of it pushes one of the tables over to Hardees and goes thru the drive thru. We called the cops and she went to jail 5 seconds slower i would have been hit. I hate drunk drivers they should be impaled on a spike where they are caught and left to rot.

Its been more than 2 months and the Travelers Insurance company is still giving us the run around.
Remember those commercials with the guy with the Red Umbrella "having you covered". His umbrella must have gotten lost. Their first offer after a month was 1/2 of the estimate I got from the lowest contractor. NICE. A month later they increase the offer another 50%. These companies are creeps. All the while the store looks like crap. I will be paying out of pocket in a while and take them to court if I have to.

Insurance companies. Gotta love em. Pay all your life. Then, when you need them they try everything possible to get out of paying up. Something needs to change.
