    Postal Service = gone broke
    Federal Gov. = gone broke

Congressional and Senate Salary wage increase programs seem to be doing fine...

So are their personal Health care programs... which, by the way, they have been EXEMPTED from the "reform", so these folks will get to KEEP their own health care programs...

      But wait

The Gov does not run their personal health care, it's ran outside the Gov.
      That's why it's okay.

            Steve,

It's not really going to matter one way or the other that history prooves that this stuff isn't going to work... That argument assumes that the people in charge are working from a standpoint of LOGIC and Logical arguements for what they are doing/proposing doing...

They aren't... This is currently a battle between Logic and Idealogs, and the Idealogs have the Media on their side. So, it's also a battle of Propaganda and Media Blitzes... Since the LEFT controls the media, and the Government is actively working to stifle the free speech of anyone in their way, you may be right, it's an uphill struggle...

But I'm not done fighting for this country... don't give up hope just yet... the Left... or extreme right, don't have a monopoly on that yet...

I don't fully agree. They are not guilty, they have been allowed to do what they wanted, how they wanted without consequences. In order to be guilty they would have had to go against our spoken wishes. We as a country have been pretty quiet until lately.

                GREAT observation, Steven...

On that SAME note... WHERE are all these Anit-War protestors lately?? Even Cindy Shehan (sp?) was quoted recently as agreeing that it seems that the "anti-war movement" really seems to be an "anit-Republican war" movement...

There ARE WARS still going on... and yet, NO one is really protesting... Hmmmmmmm......

Squeaky wheel gets the oil. The media has bogged everyone down with so many lies as of late. People can't make heads or tales of what's going on. It appears the media controls the masses.

Thank goodness, the masses are starting to wake up!

Well the reader reation here sums it up.. http://www2.newsvirginian.com/wnv/ne..._exactly/42153

"Let’s ask Mr. McClung, then - how is the good ol’ private sector doing these days? The free market is supposed to be so ruthlessly efficient. Washington didn’t take over Wall Street and Detroit; Wall Street and Detroit went to Washington hat in hand.

Memory serves, too, that when the Postal Service had an issue with its employees that threatened to shut down operations FedEx and UPS were nowhere near being able to pick up the slack. It seems that the private sector piggybacks on the public, taking the high-end business customers whose dollars could mean a lot to the Postal Service’s bottom line while leaving the grunt work to the publicly-run service.

Bottom line is that the government isn’t supposed to be “profitable.“ Well-run? Yes. Accountable for every penny? No doubt. But if it’s doing something that is “profitable,“ then that “profitable” venture needs to be opened into the private sphere.

Delivering letters will never be “profitable.“ Running a military will never be “profitable.“ Building roads, running school systems, picking up garbage, managing wastewater-treatment plants and prisons, ditto. But those things have to be done just the same.

That’s an inconvenient truth for people like Mr. McClung."
