Any ideas where to get a 2835 and 2845 2900kv or 3100kv motors at. Spent the weekend trying to figure where to buy from a us supplyier. I have all the ships sitting off shore in cali. Going to buy s 50and 60 amp speed controlers just to make sure I have what I need. Waiting 5 weeks for parts to show up puts me in cold and possibly snowsoo[o. Need something shipped from the us.

If you are morally OK with clones, the HETRC EDF 3W is a good (for the price) American knock off of the Mega 16/15/3 that I use; 78g, 28x38mm, 3000Kv.

OSE sell the Leopard 2845 2960Kv motor, similar quality to the HETRC, but at 28x45mm and 125g it is too big and heavy for a 17" boat unless you are planning on doing SAWs with it.

Even for SAWs a 2860 is too big and heavy for a 17" boat.

This one sold on this website, not sure size but it's appropriate for 17". 3000kv, would work for 3s speed runs or 2s cruising.

Finally got everything to finish the boat. Just a few questions.
On electrics of this size about where should my balance point be?
How far from the bottom of the should the propshaft be?
Do I need to offset the driveshaft to the right side (looking at the transom from the stern) and how far to offset?
              Thanks

CG should probably be about 5.5 inches forward from the back, about a third of the length. What do you mean by offsetting the driveshaft to the right? Shaft and prop should be in center of boat at bottom of V of hull maybe an eighth of an inch up from bottom. What motor and prop and battery you end up going with?

                  The motor is a propdrive 2830 3000kv.
I used to have to offset the strut to the right on my nitro monos to counteract prop torque. Wasnt sure if that was needed on electric monos.

Never heard of offsetting prop shaft on a mono. My 17" with that motor definetely has a bit of prop torque with 3s. I have a counter weight far back in left which helps.

The 32mm prop I started with had way too much torque, I switched to a 28mm and it is much reduced.

I got an alloy prop for the barbwire as a starting place. Should atleast get it up on plane. I hope.
