Here is my story , purchase a 6500mah 4s maxamps rated at TRUE 150c "burst" 75c continues , batt was starting to over heat and puff , maxamps checked the history of the pack and the pack was over a year old sitting on the shelf of the hobby shop ,I was told by Dustin at maxamps that the polymers on the lithium plates will cristalise over time and won't produce the power required , new pack was received and put to the test , now this pack is being use on jae 21fe rigger with cc ice 240amp and leopard 3674 3270kv prop m440 b/s , 1st run after 2 1/2 min data logged was downloaded max current 147 esc temp98 motor temp111 batt temp 147 "no puff" let's go to a second 45min later with same setup max current 152 esc temp98 motor temp 115 , BATT TEMP over 200 deg melting heatshrink and wires , I contacted maxamps about it and sent them pix of the lipo right after it happen , NOW THIS LIPO IS RATED AT "75c" "150c" = 487.5 continues amps and my data log says I'm drawing not evens 1/4 of that max of course maxamps claim other wise blaming faulty system , numbers don't lie c rating on this batts ARE NOT UP TO PART FOR WHAT THE CLAIM TO BE.

The reality is that we consumers are at the mercy of the pack assemblers....just like in the round cell days they can print anything they want on a label. The only way to really get what you pay for is to use a pack assembler you can trust. Personally I think that anything over a claimed 45C continuous is BS....with today's tech anyway.

As we americans have learned over the years.... It's all about how you define it.
Burst is what? 10 second? Maybe 15 seconds? If they tested for a whole 30 seconds continuously, perhaps continuous is........ 30 seconds? When it comes to lipo testing, continuous is not really defined. Common sense would lead you to believe that continuous would mean for the entire duration of a full discharge cycle, right? Maybe...
The other thing is I have 10 guage wire on my 4200mah 30C rated lipos and the wire is warmer than the cells or connecters. So I would think it is a compounded issue between wire size, cells and liars... Just my 1 cent
