Its got potential Peter. But its a 12S motor and expensive speedos come into play. Not that its a road block but your still looking at $1k to power a 48"hull not including batts. Thank god you can do the mounts. I hope?

1k is extreemly do-able considering what this would have cost 3 - 4 years ago...just my first Lehner 3080/7 cost me 1K and as far as the mounts John all I need is one motor for a few days .

Agreed. I dont even want to try and remember the dollars spent over the years trying to go fast. Today you can do way more for so much less. Guess thats technology. $150 dollar chinese motors competing with $700 Lehners? Who would have guessed?

I don't think any of those would handle that motor. Yes, they are rated for 12s but that does not mean they can provide the amperage needed.....

handle that motor is a little realtive.
the turnigy 120 amp esc would be able to deliver 5300 watt or 7 hp.
if the turnigy monster wil do as it say and hold 200 amp that would be 8800 watts or 11.9 HP.

now wil the cheap esc`s handle the rated amp and volts? i dont know.
but id rather blow up a $150 chineese esc then a hydra 120 or 180 amp HV.

                        Jason and Aaron

As soon as a Jacket is available for one of these I will formulate a mount , I am hoping Steven leaves me about a 1/4"inch from the wire assy to where the rear of the water jacket is to slip the rear of the mount in , or do it like I did the new 1717 mount .

I will need a volunteer to send me a motor to build the first prototype and with that a mount will be sent back at half cost + shipping .

Shouldn't be hard to make a cooler from off the shelf tubing etc. I did it for my 5692 motor.

This would run nice and cool in a 40" boat, and scoot too!! 10S would be enough at approx. 28000 rpm, you can swing a heck of a big prop!

Thats true about the cooling jacket Ray but sooner or later there will be a store bought aluminum cooler for this motor so one must plan ahead..........

Ray I don't think I would go as small as a 40" boat , just my personal opinion
