I don't believe they make the 1521 in that KV range. You may want to try a 1518 1.5 D 2340kv. Not a popular motor in the states but seems to be a bit more popular in Australia. I have one and love it. I heat race it on 4S power and run SAWs on 6S.

Steve has been known to do custom winds. Like you tell him the kv you want and he tweaks the wind to get there. I don't know anyone that has one in that range but I know it can be done.

They will. I have a 2050kv neu on the way to me I had custom wound. He said he's going to start stocking that wind too. This is going in the replacement Rivercat for the one that sank.

kfxguy, are you going to run just one 1521 in it?

Yes. 32" Rivercat. That's way too big to run twin in it.

I thought you were gonna go with a 1527 single for that one...

              Aren't the 1521's comparable to a 4050 TP and LMT 1950's ?

4060 tp is about the same and a 2250 lehner is about the same. 1527 is going in my mono.

Neu guys finally responded to my email... they said they don't have it.

                  I guess I'm better off just going with either a 1521 1D (2900kv) on 5s then, or ... maybe 1518 1.5D (2340kv) on 6s.

You guys think 1521's on 5s would be too beefy for the shocker? they seem to be exact size as my tp4050's though. maybe slight weight diff.

Call them. Talk to Lisa. Tell her Travis in Louisiana told you to call. Order this. It's 2050kv and perfect for 6s. They told me they are going to start stocking this wind because he said my wind was a good one. It's a y wind also.

                    Be prepared. It's not cheap.

I'll have to look at my invoice but I know it was $300 something bucks.

Is there any diff going with the 8mm shafts versus a 5mm for this Neu? 5mm should be fine for twin though right...

Kind of disappointing that they don't have a higher KV 1521 though. They have them in the 1524 and 1527 versions though... but those are a tad bit long for my hull.

I've seen some guys running 2900kv 1521's in 45" HPR's on 5s and clocking 113mph. Tempted to give that setup a shot.

I use 8mm shaft when I can on long can motors. Why? The shaft will flex at high rpm. With me it's not one of those things I pull out the air and say it because it sounds kind of logical. It's happened to me. I had a shaft that was flexing and hitting the stator. Yes, you could see where it was doing it. Was ripping the rotor wrap off. I got lucky on that motor. Took it apart to put ceramic bearings in it. Found that. Was sobering. Lol

All my new motors in my bigger boats have 8mm shaftsif I plan on hammering on them.
