Esc/motor for aeromarine 36" sprint cat

I have a gas aeromarine sprint cat hull. 36". Never set up a bigger boat. As of now just built tunnels and used outboards. Really not sure what would be a good fit for the sprint cat. If Anyone have any electronics that would be good, I could be interested. Thanks

Here are a couple threads from when I built mine 2 winters ago, maybe it will help you decide.

A ton of guys are running a Neu 1527/1Y-1250kv on 6s in this hull. In a bizzare fashion, I cooked mine right off the bat. Neu replaced the stator and rebuilt it, I ran maybe (10) 3 min runs on 6s, and (2) 2 min runs on 7s, then opted for a higher 1440kv motor as I just wasn't getting the speed I was looking for with the lower rpms, plenty of people swear by it though. Read through those threads, there's some good info from experienced guys there.

My barely used 1527/1Y is still on the shelf, and may go in the swap shop soon as I don't think I'll be using it anytime soon if you're interested, I just haven't decided what I'm willing to sell it for.

That's cool thanks for the info. Decide how much you want and give me a crack. I would like that sweet spot between off the line power and speed also. What esc were you using. What was the approx speed? When I had a modified gas 31 modes motor on it the thang hussleled. Thanks for the info. If I find out this boat is too much work right now. It might be in the for sale section also. Thanks.

With the 1527/1Y, I think the best I got on 6s was high 50's, tried all kinds of props. On 7s I got into the 60's, but it still turned unbelievably at full throttle. Some of the guys racing them get 60's out of the 6s setup, I just couldn't see how with the lower rpm's. I used a SF 240HV Pro+.

I don't know much about gas boats, but are you sure you have the 36" hull? A 30cc gas motor? I thought most people ran .40-.80 nitro in these, that's why it's called the Sprintcat 40/80. The 42" hull is the one more common for gas......

yep too low of RPM for 6s IMO...I push mine to 60 mph with a CC 1717, T-180 on 6s with temps around 100*... I gave up those expensive Neu motors long ago...I've seen several of them burn up.
