Fast Zonda, Fightercat, Fantasm Twin Cats Wanted.

    Hey guys,

Anyone around here know of anyone that might be selling a Twin Cat? New or Used.

I wouldn't mind building one out myself though.
Which hull is the best in terms of quality and price?
Is it better to get the hull prebuilt with the hardware for these? >>

    Thanks!

It is a matter of preference. I started with RTR and upgraded. It would have been cheaper to have bought a bare hull and built it myself. Lots of fun though. Define the end goal first, and work to get there.

I'm trying to find a good quality Twin Cat hull kit with all the hardware... Fightercatracing seems to have some good hulls, but they are bare would rather have it come ready with all the rudders and mounts and just stick in the electronics I want.

the zonda and the fantasm are the same thing. just get you a zonda from the ose store and upgrade the electronics later.

You are better off study'ing the builds and building yourself. This is mine http://www.kbbforums.com/shawn-s-hv-...ild-t1160.html
The RTR's are built a certain way to a certain speed. This is why the mounts in a Zonda need to be pulled out and moved back over 60mph for CG placement.

I wish some of these were more complete-- with direct links to buy them or the detailed parts #'s... though OSE should have pretty much everything you mention in your build post?

I think the hardest part would be mounting the motor mounts.
Why don't they just make them bolt onto the hull... nut and flat head bolt from the other end and just polish it up externally. Sure would hold on better than epoxy I think.

What do you guys think of this setup in terms of overall value for the electronics, hardware, etc? >> http://www.tobsd.com/ViewDetails.aspx?ProductID=896

Watched the videos... seems quite fast.

The value is not bad there. It is certainly a good looking boat and a nice size to work with. Kind of a Fantasm/Shocker hybrid. I think I heard these guys take a bit to ship but do still seem to be going fine business wise. They do have a couple hulls I would like to try.

The problem here is that the bolts going thru the hull create a weak spot at the holes that are drilled. If you go with a Zonda/Fantasm I should have the templates here. I could scan them and email them to you.

I almost bought one of these. He will sell just the hull if you email him. I'll give you a hint....if you look at the pics closely, you can see "tenshock" printed in the hull on the right hand side precisely where it says tenshock in my shocker. Just sayin.... (I'll bet money the length advertised is wrong)

Yea, I've checked that. I'll try with a different email... perhaps gmail is automatically blocking all chinese emails.

What do you guys think of the "540size TENSHOCK VIPER TS-VZ 2240 6 Poles KV1900" motor and the ETTI 150amp ESC that comes with that SuperTiger?
Anyone have any experience running those before?

The Etti's are great. Can be a little 'jumpy' at first but are a rock solid ESC. Those Viper motors have proven themselves as well but can be tough to find-get over here.
I am curious how the bottom of that hull looks. Like a Fantasm or like a Shocker?

Ok so I ordered that SuperTiger from Tobsd.
Do you guys think the 150amp ETTI ESC and motors there will support 8s on each side? Says to use 6s 30c on each side...

Trying to find some good quality lipos to run with this setup... did some research and Revolectrix seem to be a good choice.
Should I get batteries with a higher c like 60-70c compared to the suggested 30c since they're priced similar to the 30c ones?

                              Like this: http://www.store.revolectrix.com/Pro...0C-SILHV-label

Alot of guys seem to run 6 cell batteries compared to 2 packs of 3s batteries... Is it more reliable? Aside from the fact 2x 3s 5000mah's would last longer... and weigh less, etc compared to just a 6s 5000mah, etc.
