    63v Capacitors- where to buy?

I'm looking at making my own cap bank for running a fairly hot 8s setup. I checked Kintec and OSE, but I can't find any 63v capacitors. Any idea where I can buy them from??

http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...478-ND/3134434 This is the ones I buy, same for my 35v caps and the boards etc ...these are what I use for "saw" in a 2x8 series/para configuration...if its for heat racing then go with a higher uf cap... DJ

That place has a lot of boards to choose from. Is there one you like more than the others?

Digikey also carries the good Dupont DP270 or 370 forget which it is, but its good stuff to coat it all with, if your wanting to go that route...I use ca to mount my caps to board, then solder leads to 14ga wire solder my para + to - from caps then coat it all with liquid electrical tape, then I shrink wrap it... a 2x8 capbank (16) caps cost less than 10$ to do and is definately better than what I have seen being sold...

A word on caps, you want "low ESR" caps. These are designed for high frequency switching with low resistance so they do not heat up and deliver current fast. The Rubycon ZL series is one of the best and available from Mouser, Newark and other electronics supplies. Don't just go buy any old cap and assume it will help. Alternatives are the ZLK, ZLH and ZLJ. The cap voltage rating should be 15-20% higher than your charged lipo voltage. So if you run 10S batteries you want at minimum 50V, but better 63V rated caps. Don't go too high and add 100V caps for a 6S system, it will not help as much compared to caps rated closer to the working voltage.

It is also important to keep the cap leads short and the caps should be as close as possible to the board.

                          29.6v X 1.20 = 35.5v. Would 63v caps be to much for an 8s setup?? Thanks Tyler!!

The 63V caps are a solid choice. The 50V may have an edge, but only a little.
