Lookin' for a few motors and speed controls and more!

Well, I kind of need some toys to play with next year... I am going to start collecting parts for next years projects... Y wind is preferred.... (seems they are better for my application)

4082 or 4074 in 2200kv let me know. (Can go for others, just mention it)

    SeaKing ESC(s) 120 or 180 amp (V2-V3)

    Need transom hardware as well.

Feel free to drop me a PM if I don't respond within a day or 2.

    My projects are:
    King of Shaves P1 (35")
    Formula FASTech (have 2 now)

Interested in some hulls... V hulls.

I would prefer not to go over 2400kv.
Why are you bothering me? I want to see your boat!

I am curious as to why you think a 'D' wind is not appropriate for your application. Hundreds of 'D' winds are happily running about every R/C boat there is.......

I know that several people run D motors but from my understanding Y wind is better for running at higher throttle. It's a preference, a D motor may work great but then again I don't know... Just a preference and rather have sorta thing...

I would not let a wind sway me from getting a motor, kv is far more important.

I used to think the same way, had to have a Y wind. Then I tried a d wind. Not only was my boat alot faster, my temps didn't change. For now on, I don't worry with the wind type, mainly kv and size per application.

The main difference between a 'D' and a 'Y' is......the timing required. Lots of BS is posted about the 'D' winds (amp hogs, etc) but definitive tests by airplane guys show the Kv difference is what matters. If you use a 'D' just keep the timing low.

I just finished an on-the-water test with a 'D' motor on both 2* and 15* of timing. The logging showed there was very little difference, just smoother on 2* and slightly lower temps. This was not a high amp test, just ~110 amps average for four minutes. Didn't want to fry anything......

Oh well, if I prefer a Y or D then that's my preference. Besides, I only play with the boats. I don't race them so... These motors won't be going in go fast boats either... They will be going into "retiree" boats. Travis, I should have enough stuff gathered up for at least one build at the beginning of December..
