I'm reviving a V1 MG29 here in Texas that I just bought from some harsh, brackish Florida water use. I haven't even started on it other than stripping and cleaning the exterior and pulling out all the electronics/hardware. Was just about to cut out the wood, foam and transom hardware for a CF inlay. You may not be looking for a hull that already needs work, though. Hatch magnets are rusted out so hatch pins/locks/tape is needed. There are two chips that need to be filled on the hull and a part of the hatch that needs to be rebuilt with cloth/resin. Also, where the stuffing tube exits the hull needs to be epoxied. I plan to do all this and also blueprint the ride-pads and install a rudder with dual water pickup for separate motor/ESC cooling lines. And I have a Leopard 4082 waiting to go in. I bought it specifically to refresh, upgrade and re-sell.

Thank you for responding to my inquiry...... How much would you take for it "As Is"........ Also, just out of curiosity, if you were to do an inlay how much would you want for it with the inlay?

I just looked at what I have invested already on this one, and I'm already too deep to sell it reasonably, as-is, without losing money on it. Funny how quickly our $ goes into these. I think it's worth would be in the $130 ballpark, as-is, if I just finish cleaning it up with no cf inlay...but I can't let it go for that, so I need to finish restoring the hull and complete the inlay, etc. Probably looking at around $230-$240 (without motor or ESC) if it turns out like I have planned. My bad.

**EDIT - if you haven't already looked, there is a seller on ebay with complete MG29 hulls for $230 shipped (looks like hull and canopy - no hardware). Don't know if anyone sells them for less than that, new. I also saw one auction with three days left for a RTR MG29 that said it needed some "repairs and overhaul" that may be worth a look.

Okay thanks, I'll probably buy a bare hull and put one together. The Miss Geico / BlackJack29 Hulls are not worth the $$$ when you can build one 3x's stronger for cheaper. I have split 3 of these hulls because the are not well constructed ( that was in my rookie days when I didn't know anything about reinforcing techniques). I was just looking for a hull to do an inlay , strengthen, and run about 50mph in the 4cell class my boys and I have here around the way. to be honest with you I don't even know why Proboat thinks $200-$230 is a reasonable price for that poorly constructed hull but to each his own.

Take care and good luck with your build!

No kidding. This hull I have here is my first experience with a Pro Boat hull and last night I popped out one of the battery trays that I noticed was already half-loose. Once free, I was really suprised at how much flex the hull had. Wow.

we might be able to work something out, i picked up a blackjack hull a few weeks ago in plans on working on it but im still working on my other boat build so i think i could let it go since space is limited in my place. might as well let someone use it rather then just sitting there IMG_2828.jpg

Do you have a BlackJack29 hull?.....the picture you have is of a BlackJack26. If you have the BlackJack29 how much would you let it go for.

I have new RTR Blackjacks and Miss Geicos, but I can strip out motor/esc/rx/tx and leave the boat with hull + hw + servo+ boat stand.
