    I need a favor....anyone have a burnt hydra ice 240?

I think i found the problem with my esc. It's worth a shot. If you have a burnt hydra ice 240, would you be willing to give, sell, or let me try the small remarkable circuit board inside the controller? It comes out easily. That's the only part that got wet in my esc and it on the bottom. Also heats up my castle link when I plug it in. It think it's the culprit of my problem.
One of the circuits on it appear damaged. This us what I'm after...

Sorry man, photobucket was being slow to upload. It's updated now. I really think I can save this esc with this part. It has a part I can see damaged on it.

If you remove the four clamshell screws, take the bottom off, you can see it sticking out. Wiggle it and slightly pull. Comes right out. Like it was meant to be replaced. Lol. Pic says a thousand words...

That's a voltage regulator.most commonly only found in becs. Have you tried without the red wire and an external rx pack

No but I did think about that. When I plug it into my castle link, right where the plug is on the castle link gets really hot pretty quickly. Does not communicate. Does not send power to my receiver anymore and the motor does not beep. I can see a burnt part on it and no where else on the esc. I'm probably taking a shot in the dark but if someone smoked the fets on theirs, it's pretty much a goner anyway. I'm not sure if castle still repairs them but it used to cost $190 flat rate. If someone was going to do that, I could just swap boards with them and they would get the repair done for the same price anyway.

Everytime my 240 has got wet, the motor has cogged. I have let it dry for a week or two, reset the controller via Castle link and it has been fine. BTW, that board coming loose is the leading cause of failure in all ICE controllers. There is a service bulletin about it stating to wedge a piece of foam between it and the casing. Just saying.

Hmmmm. Good info. So if it comes loose, does it burn the esc up? I think it was loose now that I think about it. Came off very easy. No foam was there.

That is a recall that later units was shipped with, and they rectified the problem and here is the bulletin.

Just hung up with castle. They don't sell the part I need. So I have two choices, send it in for repair ($180) or wait around till someone graciously helps me out with the part I need from their burnt esc.

When the little removable board somehow touches that metal plate behind it, its done, been there, done that, like 5 times. It does not seem to have anything in the center of these two pieces to keep them from touching. The ESC does not like to be squeezed into small places, or anywhere that you have to push on its cover. I just burnt one about a month ago trying to fit two of them in my mean machine. Otherwise, it sure was a good esc.

It was squeezed in my hull under the front deck.
