    WTB: Mega 16/15/3

    I am looking to buy a Mega 16/15/3 for a mini hydro project. Please let me know if you or anyone you know has one for sale.

    Thank you,
    Chris

    From what I gather on here minis are not very popular in the states and most of the few that are about are RTRs, you may be better off either asking in Euro boat forums as we have 3 classes for mini boats, or on any plane forums as it is a pretty popular motor for 69mm EDFs, and 400 size pylon racers worldwide.

    If you cant find a used one or afford a new one, you may want to consider a HET EDF 3W, which is a copy of the Mega 16/15/3, and will cost you new about the same as a used Mega. From my experience they are not nearly as underrated as Mega's are, but the build quality differences are far less between the 28mm motors than they are with the 36mm motors.

      Thanks for the info Paul. Do you have a link to your mini class rules?

        The full rules are in the "Naviga Rules" section here, but the gist of it is 2s/3s lipo weighing under 110g inc connectors, any motor, rearward facing red safety loop >20mm diameter attached to the hull not the hatch, Mini Monos and Hydros are surface drive with a maximum hull length of 450mm and a minimum weight of 450g RTR, Mini Ecos are submerged drive with a maximum hull length of 430mm and a minimum weight of 500g. Mini Monos and hydros run clockwise on an oval with 60m straights and a 5m radius turn on each end, monos running for 6 minutes and Hydros running for 5 minutes both with a 10 second mill time starting across the course to the top right buoy, Ecos run anticlockwise on an equilateral triangle with 30m straights for 6 minutes (no mill time) starting across the course to the top buoy.

        Edit
        20mm = 25/32 or.79 inch
        5m = 5yd 1.4ft
        30m = 32yd 2.4ft
        6om = 65yd 1.9ft
