    WTB Skeg strut

Looking for a large cat skeg strut. I thought I would see if anyone on here has one they want to sell before I order one. Let me know what you have and how much you want for it. Thanks

    Brian,

The one large cat skeg strut I have is one I'm experimenting with to find the best way to convert from .250 to .187 shafts. I just did one for a customer using the standard Speedmaster replaceable propshaft bushing

    DSC03539.JPG DSC03538.JPG

Here's one I plan on using myself that uses 3/16" lead-teflon bushings (which I like better) 'tho they are more labor-intensive to replace

Once you get your hands on one, contact me if you'd like & I can walk you through the conversion (if that's what you have in mind)

    Tony

Tony, thanks for the info. What kind of strut is that that you are using? How does it differ from the speed master one? what about using this one that is already made for the 3/16th shaft? oct_strut.JPG

The strut in the top two pictures above is a Spd. The one I'm now working on is from Insane - it doesn't have a tapered nose.

The Octura strut you pictured is no stronger than a stick of chewing gum.

Talked to Rocket City this morning and that is what they said to use to go from the 1/4 to the 3/16.

It'll work on the prop (back) end but it'll be too far forward on the nose end to support the shaft since the flange prevents it from going in far enough.
