    ESC for Traxxas Villain IV

    I have a Villain that needs a esc to get it running and wet,

    Do you need the ESC for the original Villain IV...........the dual lead 7 cell with red heatsink?

      Yes that is the one that is in it, Are they any good ?
      I tested the motors and they ran on the bench.
      I just wanted to see how it ran with stock setup on 4s if that will be ok,
      I will be going brushless down the line.

        I believe i have one from an old Villain IV i modded. You can only run 2s lipo with it ot two 6 cell nimhs in parallel, thats the way the batt plugs are set up. You can go 2s2p as well. The stock Villain IV ran around 13-15 mph max...........which is actually scale for going 100+ LOL.

          I have an EVX-2 marine that works but has all the leads cutoff. It will take 2x2s batteries but no cutoff. I actually think it can handle 5s but never tried.
