    WTB Neu 1527 1.5Y 8mm shaft

I am looking for a New or like new Neu 1527 1.5Y to try out a 10s power system in my Sport 45 hull. Let me know what you have and how much you want.

raydee if you're not set on the 1527 try a 1530/1Y on 8S, I think you will be surprised, the 1530 is only 1/4" longer but man what power, I went from a 1527/1.5Y on10S to the 1530/1Y on 8S in one of my riggers, and its faster, MUCH faster.....

Mike I might have to look into that. My only concern with 8s on my 45 hull is that the cells may be a bit lighter than the two 6s packs I am running right now and I am worried that lighter cells may make the boat more flighty than it is already. How is the amp draw on 8s compared to the 10s setup?

I doubt they will fit in my hull the way I have the batts way up front. Right now I am using two Hyperion 6s4200mah packs and they are about as large as I can go at 136mm x 43mm x 55mm

The amp draw is lower for some reason, the same boat almost the same weight but, on my 10s setup I was using 4500 mah in 6 laps I'm faster and used less than 4000 in 8 laps with the 8s setup. It could have to do that when I ran the 10S setup it was with the older 35C 5500 cells though. but I am still well over 10mph faster with the 1530/8s setup.

Hmm that is interesting. I wonder if the larger motor is giving the boat the extra power it needs to keep the hull running real efficiently? Have you tried this setup in any other hulls that were running 10s?

they are longer than the 6s 4200's but other dimensions are smaller 38x46x180ish

Well I will have to see if I have enough room for the extra length.

yeah ray i run the 1527/1.5Y on 10S in my scale boats and 42-48" cats but you cant compare them to riggers because they pack air and use completely different props and are 20-25mph slower. I'm doin 60 with my scale boats and cats and mid to high 80's with the rigger. But the scale boats are efficient as hell I use 3000mah in a full race and these boats are no lightweights!!! My Coors light boat is 13lbs and I use 5500-6500's but my OLD Miss Madison Hamms Bear weighs in at close to 20lbs uses the same exact setup and runs like stink!!!! really unbelievable, same motor prop and speedo and they are almmost equal in speed.

Man I wish I had the time and money to try both systems in my boat and see which one works the best. By the way I was just telling the guys at the pond last week that I am dying to build a large 8s-10s rigger for next season. The pond we are running at now is much larger than are old pond and a 80-90mph rigger would work great there. Which hull are you running?

Have you considered the possibility that your improvement may be (in part) a product of your battery change? Perhaps your older cells are getting a bit tired?

Ray I'm running different variations of custom CMDI riggers, Andy has built me 8 custom FE riggers and I have run many setups in all of them. Give me a call sometime I'll let u know what I've done.
Keith as I said the battery change definitely had something to do with it but because they are better cells, I don't run old or tired cells I literally have hundreds and hundreds of packs (probably somewhere around 1000lbs of lipos) and rarely run more than a season without replacing them. The other setup is from 2 years ago so the data is a little old but it was a fast setup.
