Good afternoon. I am new to FE boats. I currnetly have a Supervee 27 with a UL1 ESC and 4200 Mah LIPO's. I also have a proboat mystic. These boats run well but I am looking for something larger preferably a cat. Who sells them in a ARTR form? I prefer a larger boat as I run Namba District 3 with my Gas boats. I like the scale look. Thanks in advance

I'm not sure you will get a large boat RTR. What a bout the genesis? 37" and easy to drop a decent motor and esc in. -
Some guys on here offer build services, as far as a bigger RTR boat than what you have isn't available, well should re-phrase that quality ones aren't really available rtr. Just about everybody builds their own when they decide to step up in size/performance.
Most all of the chinese offerings have either cheap hardware or electrics, some both!If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

Ok sounds about the same as what we do running gas. Never built electric but cant be too bad i guess. Thanks for the help. I will be here reading lots of old threads. I have plenty to learn about motors, esc and lipo's.Comment

I ran nitro for years, the build is actually easier with electric, no radio boxes or dealing with the pipe!
There a number of guys on here who have built fast reliable big cats. They will be more than happy to give advice. If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

The old questions...budget...what size and you will have to build it if you are looking over about 30" for a quality cat hull and hardware.

Curtis,
Ron Ratoff has had some interest in FE as he lives on a lake that he can't make noise on. Be nice if we actaully had some FE classes in the district. On this coast we have quite a few tunnels but I don't think your interested in them. I will tell you with not a lot of investment motor and ESC you can see speeds in the 60-70mph range with a 6S Cat. My 6S tunnel easily beats my Quickdraw/Razor which I have run in the district. I might recomend you look at Fightercat which is here in FL and good to deal with. http://fightercatracing.com/ He has hulls, motors and ESC's. If you can rig a rudder and driveline adding an FE motor and ESC is pretty easy compaired to an gas or nitro. No throttle linkage.pipe or fuel tank. You may just want a fun runner but I don't think you'll stay there long. Ken Haines just north of you would be a good guy to visit or invite him to demo on your pond and your jaw will drop. He has been fighting an uphill battle for FE in our district. Just a few of us planting some seeds and it will grow.

Sounds good I will check out fighter cat right now. I too wouldnt mind running electric in the district. I will talk to Ron at the race in Palm Beach.Comment

We have a NAMBA electric club that runs Ackerman in Sarasota on a regular basis. I have built a "few" larger electrics as have some of our other club members. Check the projects page on our website for links to some pretty good build threads. http://www.wfmbc.com/WFMBC/Projects.html Feel free to check the other pages for more information as well. We're still not organized or equipped well enough to host races but are working in that direction.Comment
