WTB Neu 1515 1Y smooth or finned with old style leads

    Guys,

I am looking for a Neu 1515 1Y with the old style motor leads. I would prefer the smooth can, but will consider a finned can. Motor must be in good shape. I have brand new Neu motors I can trade for also if you prefer.

      Jason,

      See the pic here.
      Neu 1515 vs 1518.jpg

The newer motors have 12AWG silicon wire where as the older version had magnet wire coming direclty out of the Can. The older one alomst always had yellow, red and blue shirnk tubing covering the leads. The new ones have red wires and black shrink.

          Thanks Peter,

You have a 2.5D or a 1.5D? The 2.5D is too low of a Kv for what I need, but the 1.5D I may take.

If Tony doesnt have what you want I'm pretty sure I have one. DOB was around march of 2009 if I remember right. Was getting ready to put it up on Ebay.

Are the newer style Red motor leads unsoldering themselves under hard load? I have not heard of any complaints on the newer 1515 1y motors doing this

                    Tony,

I'll give you a call tomorrow.

                    John,

I am interested, please PM me for more details and if you can send a pic of the motor.

                    detox,

I am sure most of the silicon wire versions are pretty tough and can handle some good current for heat racing, but I plan on abusing the living daylights out of the poor thing so the magnet wire leads are preferred.
