WTB 30" area boat in the 1,000.00 range. please read on.

Hi guys. I am looking to buy a new boat in the very near future, and wanted to see if i get any response before I go out and drop the cash at a hobby shop. I am looking for a fast 30' boat in very good condition in the
1,000.00 price range. Must be rtr or very close to. If anyone thinks they might want to come off a nice boat for a decent chunk of cash, please let me know. thanks

Few RTR boats are even worth bothering with. Dont go cheap chinese! The exception might be the UL-1 version2, the SV27R, the Mystic and the new Impulse. Supposed to be race ready setups in certain classes. But the 64 dollar question is do you know how to drive an FE hull? Assuming so,.. $1k will get you something pretty darn fast.

For $1k, you'd probably be better off having a boat built for you. You're not going to get anything spectacular from any regular hobby shop unless they specialize in FE boats.

Yes. I would like a custom built boat. So if anyone has a boat in good condition that they would part with in the 1k area, let me know. I will be buying a boat very soon, so don't delay. Thanks. Brad

Good News, probably will not have to spend THAT much. You can can probably find something in the 500 - 650 range that will suit your needs. However, the rest of the money will be needed for the batteries, charger, prop and misc. I would caution you though, you might be better off buying one of the boats suggested above to start with and then making your second boat something like what you are asking for. It takes awhile to get used to the speed and handling of the boat and there is some learning curve assoicated with maintaining them etc. Are you new to the hobby, or have you done other things?

I own the FE30 and the Mono also that Tony builds. The FE30 is incredibly durable and stable boat. I have run it up to the 60mph range and it handles great. The mono boat I am still building, but have heard very good things about it. Tony is a "regular' on this site and is very involved with the hobby and many people will recommend him. There are others out there, but I can say you could not go wrong with him or the boat(Insane RC boats).

Just figured I would update. I bought a boat from v-spec. it is a motley crew with a leopard 2200kv, swordfish 200, and turnigy. Can't wait to tear it up. BUT... I still need another boat. My friend is now getting the itch and wants a boat in the 30-36" area for 700.00 area. If anyone has something nice pm me. We will b e running together. He likes the spartan. But what else do you have??? Thanks. Brad

for the money you want to spend i would go with tony i have a fe30 he built for me and the build is deffo as good as anything i have seen he is one of these guys that meassures not once, not twice but as many times as it takes for him to be happy. I am just waiting for my motor to come from steve neu and tony is going to build my insane 34"mono, ask anyone on this forum who has seen or had a boat built by him what his workmanship is like and i will bet you will not find a unhappy person.
I take it your from sd area if you are you should come up to legg lake next weekend we have two classes of fe's running at the gasser's meeting there, i believe we are running FE30'S on saturday and the mono's on sunday, ask anyone in the insane mob who and where tony is and you should find him. he is a coll guy easy to get on with and will help you if he can.
Legg lake is just off the 60 at rosemead i believe its junction 9 or 10, and its an awesome venue.
