    Cooling jacket availability.

    Hi all,

My name is Chris and I'm new to RC boating and new to these forums. I've got a question that I was hoping you might be able to help me out with.

I'm nearing completion of a Dumas Products Chris Craft scale boat and I've bought an Aquacraft 36-56-2030kV motor. I believe this is commonly referred to as the UL-1 motor?

(I've also got the associated Aquacraft ESC (60 Amp), a couple of Raboesch universal joints and a three blade brass prop from Dumas.)

The problem I have is that I can't find a water cooling jacket for the motor. I would have bought one of the OSE jackets but I haven't been able to find them in stock. I would also have bought one of the Kintec jackets but I can't find them in stock either. There seems to me to be a lack of UL-1 specific jackets at the moment.

Can anyone tell me if there will be more OSE or Kintec UL-1 jackets on the market soon? Or if there is another jacket that is a reliable fit for my motor?

    Thanks for any help!

    Regards,
    Chris

      Hi Oz,

      Thanks for the offer.

I'm after one with a barb around the inlet/outlet pipes to make sure I can get a really tight fit for the hoses using a cable-tie.

      Cheers,
      Chris

              Hi Alexgar,

Thanks for the heads-up. They seem to be the original Aquacraft ones and I've read about some problems with the early production runs, so I'd like to avoid them if possible.

              Cheers,
              Chris

I've read that the UL-1 motors have an outer diameter of 36.2mm. (I haven't measure mine.)

In your experiences, does this preclude using a standard 36mm inner diameter cooling jacket?

Has anyone tried the 'Black Water Cooling Jacket 36mm' on their UL-1 motor?

                    Cheers,
                    Chris
