    WTB: Large brushless motor

I am looking for a plett 370/50, Neu 2230, Castle 2028, or Lehner 30 series with a Kv of less than 800 RPM with water cooler. I would also like a mount for 5" rails and coupler for 1/4" cable. Let me know what you have.

    Thanks,
    Steve

                Aeromarine Cyclone Cat Build

Two things, Punisher, you really need to run in more than a pond. How about one of the Great Lakes.

Also I am still scatching my head, being the owner and have run a 2230 1y. I can't see why Neu would make a motor, 3 times cheaper, and have it perform equal to the 2230.

Has anyone used this motor in a bog mono, or just some people getting excited about how it performs in a 1/5 th scale off road vehicle.

A 2215 may work, but she can be amp thirsty as well. The bigger the better, if you want to fly.

If it is really that good, maybe I will get one.

I have been playing with boats for 25 years......Jeffrey I hope you didn't think I just got into RC's a few years ago

Our pond is about 800 feet end to end which suits all of us just fine but I have run the boat at some of the surrounding lakes but you run the risk of smoking a full sized boat or worse maybe a person which doesn't sit well with me , I have always run with nothing or no one within eyeball range . The neatest thing that we have ever done is run a RC boat and use a full sized boat to run beside it......very cool to run with your boat , I really want to try this with the Sniper but need to find someone with a 60+ mph boat......LOL

Castle makes the 2028 not Neu and no one claimed performance would be the same as the 2230 at least none that I have seen , The general consensus on this forum and others is that the 2028 is about 80% of what the 2230 can do performance wise

Has anyone used this motor in a bog mono, or just some people getting excited about how it performs in a 1/5 th scale off road vehicle.

None that I know of but castle seems to have a pretty good track record with the 1717's and smaller motors , no reason to expect the 2028 would be any different

I have taken my 2028 apart as I have my Lehner 3080 and both my 2230's and find the internal construction to be extreemly good with the 2028

The 2028 is not a 2230 equivalent. More like a 2225 in size and performance. Also Neu Motors provided engineering assistence in the design of CC/Neu series motors. They dont manufacture them for Castle. Lastly, there is a build thread going on with someone using the 2028 in a hydro. The thread is still active and informative and since the 2028 motor is pretty new to us FE types not too many of us have put them to use. I bought mine for a BackLash hydro and I wont even be starting the hull build untill june or later. I think if dollar to performance is your goal the 2028 is going to be one tuff motor to beat. The smaller CC/Neu motors have been doing extremely well in boats for years. My guess is the 2028 is not going to be any different but I have been wrong before.

I'll still consider any motors, but I have decided to run twin 1717s for the time being.

                        Thanks,
                        Steve

It seems to be, that alot of guys are doing twins nowadays.

                          I just sold my Neu 2230 1y.

                          Good luck to you!
