I will let you know. They used to be on the Jetcat site. I don't know if they stopped making them or what. Wren was also making them at one time. If I find a couple, I will let you know. This has been a project that I wanted to do for some time. I was going to do a HP5 unit in a heli, but the closer to the ground that I am with a $5,000 engine the I feel.

MHZ carries those, unless you're looking for a used one to save a few bucks?

Their site says 11.2hp in the spec. listing. Expensive dollar to HP ratio!

Yeah that is a lot of dollar to HP ratio, but its also a lot of power to size/weight ratio. Lots of power in a small package.

But if you're looking at those for a boat I doubt you're looking at the best bang for the buck. Its a novelty...and an expensive one.

I would love build a scale version of this.....the real one is around 1.2 million

These guys are in Ft Lauderdale and I have seen them on the water a few times. I have talked with the owner, super nice guy.

And this is what you can expect:

Such a turbine delivers about 8000W and two of them can easily push a 233cm hull above 100mph. Try the same electric and I think you won't save a lot of money. But do not only think of motor/ESC/lipo but maybe also for charging equipment.

                        Best regards,
                        Manuel

I have always wondered what happens when one of these turbine powered boats flips or rolls over?

I am guessing that cold water in the turbine compressor means disaster but have never seen or read anything to support or deny that.

Can anyone shed light on this subject? Sorry, don't mean to hijack this thread.

I have read that all you do is empty out the water and they run fine.
