Wanted: Q Offshore hull or hull & hardware

Looking for something to make myself a serious Q boat. Hull has to be 40" or less with enough float area to handle the weight of a 5000ma 6s 2p battery setup.
I already have a fast 37" Genesis but the hull is a little skinny for that much battery and 6s 1p won't cut it in offshore.
Something along the lines of an Aeromarine Sprint Cat or Team Believer Cat hull (undrilled) would be prefered. These are only 36" long but have a nice wide beam and plenty of room inside. Not opposed to a hull and hardware combo either as long as it's decent stuff. Possibly even a deep v mono as long as it's a fat one.

Tolen photos from Aeromarine site since I'm looking and not selling.

Cool. I do remember seeing the wide body plug you were working on but thought you were going to lengthen it as well.
6s 1p works fine for the 6 lap/1 mile runs we've been doing but don't think they would survive in a full 4 minute offshore run. I liked the 1717's in the Thundebolt so well that I ordered another one to put in a Q boat. I think it might give the 1527's a better run for their money than the 1521 I've been using in the Genesis.
I'll be happy to play guinea pig for you.

Just for giggles I run this in open Cat.

        I run the Turnigy 1400 4030 outrunner, a Turnigy 180 esc, 5S2P 5000's turning a x450 D/T SBP.

It does 50mph+ easy with the motor coming in at about 110F after 6 big laps. Not sure of amp draw but, in my 29" cat I don't think I'm pulling more than 100 amps continuous.

This can be built for around $450.

Yes I do race, just club stuff.

Of course you can push past 50 with Nano tech batt's... I was using 4 year old Poly RC packs. Still pretty good in 2P configuration....

Promise hobby makes a 41" cat also and it also comes in a slightly lighter version with some carbon or Kevlar.

Great hulls that soak up the waves, maybe a 1717 in one of those on 5S2P??? I might drop my 1717 in my 29" CAT IN THE SPRING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS Opps, caps locked....

You have to remember that a true Q-offshore race is 4 minutes, not a regular 1 mile heat race. So 6s2p is going to be necessary to be competitive. Bill I am only saying this if you plan on building this boat for the nats next summer. If not, and its just for our regular club stuff, then it won't matter.

I actually tracked down the ebay store and looked but at 41" it becomes an inch too long to be legal in Q by the namba rulebook. The max allowable hull length for Q is 40".
