1518 just wont hold up to the other 1521 1.5d powered setups, and lehner setups. anybody know what the good lehner motor is for a p-mono( 4s2p boat)

OK..if you already know what the 1521 1.5d motor will handle or not handle, why are you asking for comparisons?
trying to help you out. since you are in the US, and not europe. I think you are misjudging what the castle motors will do.

One problem with "what they run in Europe" is that the racing they do is not like we run in NA. Most of their running is for far longer than a typical sprint race heat, so their setups are usually milder. A European race setup might be rather slow over here.

The Lehner 2240 motors are somewhat equivalent to the 1521s, but being 2-pole motors you would normally choose a slightly lower Kv. When the Neus were first introduced we found we needed to use a Kv 15% to 25% higher than the 2-pole motors.

Lehner motors are very powerful and good quality, same as NEU motors but NEU are cheaper.

as far as I know and please correct me if I am wrong, in Europe a p-mono is a mono-2. Normally they are lighter, smaller, stepped (than a df33 for example) and prefer smaller props-high rpm-high kv and normally use the 1950 series.
