Single.... Want it to be something that is easy to run...having to many boats that have two flex shafts to constantly lube gets old....lol.... But when it's done you never know what may power it... I have two 1717's but def want a single setup...Maybe a 5692 leopard, 1527 neu, or even a 2215!!!.... I almost went with another mono but have plenty and I have admired sprintcats for too long.... Gonna do a nice one.... The guy I'm gonna have build it thinks the Single 1717 will push it fine.....Would do 6s2p 10,000mah.... I am wanting the electric layup for that reason as well to keep it light:) I I don find one soon I will just give aeromarine a shout... I've been thinking I want the entire interior of the hull to be carbon fiber... Even where you don't see....lol.... Sound like someone you know John? :)

Haha, sure does! I bet aeromarine would do that for ya too. Check out my fe30 thread. Jeff at insane boats did for me.

I'm not certain why you'd want it to be light. Mine runs low 60s and is the heavy nitro layup, 6S2P/9000 mAH, 1527/1Y and a worked x455. I would NOT want it any lighter unless all I ran on was glass.

The stringers help a lot in stiffening the hull, spreading the stresses and providing something to mount the motor to and to tie down the cells. Heavy 6S packs will often come loose in a 60 mph flip if not tied down well - they usually knock off the hatch at the same time. This boat has crashed at 80 mph and the hull was not damaged. Unless you want to run 4S, a light layup SprintCat could be a mistake IME.

Contrary to common opinion, mounting the cells on the tunnel works just fine. This boat has won its share of races against hydros so handling is not a problem.

Not recently, I think one from the 2008 SAWs was floating around at one time. Usually when I'm racing all the guys with video cameras are in the same heat!

Jay's setup was the one I modeled my single motor Sprintcat after. Nitro layup, 1527 up front and cells in the rear. This setup works excellent!

Jason, the heavy layup would be a wise decision. With the power brushless systems now have weight is your friend. I would rather have a hull with the weight utilized in the structure of the hull or even powertrain as opposed to a light (fragile) hull and still having to add weight to it just to keep the boat on the water. I'm with Jay on this one.
