So do i run a smaller prop?? I heard they run hot in the SV27... I heard their good motors.. but im worried they might be too much for the boat and make it alittle unstable...

I have reached upper 40s with ul power in my sv temps always around 105/110f on motor and esc and I spin a 42x55 prop. IMO ul power is better then a ammo in a sv. Yes the rpms are faster on that 2300, but I can counter that by spinning a slightly larger prop. I think everyone will agree both are awesome motors and at the end of the day may simply come down to users choice, I just think the ul motor is a better choice JMO. I think the ammo would be better for hulls in the 23"-25" range. I have seen both in person and favor the ul motor.Comment

Stable????????????
Krowbar69, the sv27 is a fun little boat, runs pretty good in stock trim but stability is certainly not one of its attributes. Methinks you should run the stock motor for awhile to get accustomed to the sv27 issues and then think about upgrading the motor. You are in for a world of fun with this boat but don't get too far down the road too quickly,,,,, IMHO......BGComment

I agree 100% with diesel bud the ul gear runs cooler and more torque to boot...do it and dont look back.once you have it you are laughing it is unstable in the 50+ range anyways but great fun in the 40's.And heat is your enemy in a sealed boat just grab that 42x55 prop and sharpen and balance it...done.Comment

If it were me, I'd put the Proboat motor/esc combo in there, run 4S and a 445/645 prop, especially if it were my first boat. But then I just like those motors (and ESCs)."Look good doin' it"

You can get a sv to run in the 50s and good, just takes time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JSwz6hiRwc. 60's on the other hand is a different storyif you look at my crash video in my signature the last clip of the all the black sv is a 60mph attempt. It made the crash video so obvisouly i have more work to do lol.
