Sounds like your looking for a "NEU" motor at a used price... Good luck, they are hard to come by.....

I am not so impressed with the scorpions... Check my thread of what happened to my hk4035... It did smoke and took out a hv esc with it.... Not a good motor for a mono as no much airflow.... How much have you run your boat? My thread is under the questions and answers column.... Was on a watercooled mount and had a small fan blowing on the motor too in a 44" cat... Spent $600 at the lake that day as when the scorpion motor shorted it took out EVERYTHING

sorry to hear about your bad experience with the scorpion.....but to be perfectly honest how can you be sure it was the motors fault?....could have been something else that started the carnage....the reason I am skeptical is that yours is the first bad experience I have heard of about scorpion

as far as "how does it run"?......will be the maiden voyage in the next couple days...running 6s2p starting with a 235 prather working my way up to 245....
boat weighs exactley 11 lbs including gps .....cog is at 11 1/2" from transom

I'm sending the motor in... Did you see my pic in my thread where the motor wires shorted together? Can never be sure of course.... Just seems a little odd the esc motor wires became unsoldered from the short... Guess I'll never know.... Temps were 182 on the motor when I pulled the hatch off.... Took out a one run old turnigy monster 2000 too as well as 4 lipos.... I can't be sure of course but my theory is the motor wires got to toasty and fused together and caused a short.... Oh well.... I think I may go back to a neu motor.... We will see what scorpion says?

On a good note she was running like a top when it all happened.... So if scorpion hooks me up with a new motor I'll stuff a new esc in and go at it again:)

Jim williams is where the scorpion came from.... scorpions warranty is 50% of retail of new one plus shipping... equates to about $110... new ones are on sale for $159 with no need to deal with warranty as they retail for $189
