I would suggest actyually going to the post office or one of the major carries.
Actually take the package there let them weight it. You may have clicked something that caused a way overcharge. Some countries if you actually want it to get there you need to pay the postmaster.... or it might come up missing....
In short take it in and get it insured for at least what it is worth...
Damages happen and packages get lost specially when dealing with different countries Hope this help.

I ship items to canada, uk and austrailia frequently and always use USPS. Never cost more than 40 bucks to ship slow ground, even an emaxx to denmark.

I agree, take it in like you are going to ship to get the quote, the people you called probably did the same thing you did on line. I did similarly on the boat to Canada, calculated $300, then went to USPS and it was $48 (with $650 insurance).

It is insane how fast box from China, Hong-Kong can get to Canada WITHOUT any stupid fees ans yet on the same continent we have to deal with all this crap they put on plate just to help our economy ( USA and Canada ) to stand up

Thank You Jesse for the return of $20.00, you are thre best!!!

Express Mail Service through the post office (EMS) is about the only way. I just got two boxes 24 x 18 x 18 weighing about 20 lbs each from China for $242 for both.

Dont ship overseas, it will cost you, especially with a big box. Ive had the same problem with USPS if the box is to big they wont touch it. UPS will ship it but it will cost you $50- 70 Im guessing.

Id tell the guy sorry NO overseas shipping or the buyer needs to pay more for shipping, which alot of them are willing to pay.

I never ship overseas anymore, its a hassle and it cost to much.

Your dimensions are UNDER the allowable 108" length and girth for USPS. Check 'em out. I think you will be surprised. Inside the US, that box would cost you an arm and a leg by USPS but International Express Mail isn't as bad. Go figure, eh?
