FRP stand for fiber reinforced plastic. Similar to fiberglass, but instead of using poly or vinylester resin, thermoset plastic is utilized. The fibers are layed in the mold before the liquid plastic is injected (this is how I understand it...). So you have the flexibility of plastic, and the strength of fiberglass...pretty much.

Corvette body panels are made this way, if that helps any.

All but the early ones, anyway.

Glad to hear you got it safely Rick. I even insured it just in case!

The black hull is still available... Please make me offers on it!

On second inspection, it appears there was some slight damage. The left rear sponson is split open at the corner, with a visible crack following the join line for about four inches. It looks like it was dropped with this edge/corner down.

It's nothing I can't fix though--wicking in a little thin CA should take care of it. I'll be repairing it later today. Besides, it gives me justification to do a custom paint job on the hull. I was thinking about doing it up in a fictitious Pennzoil scheme.

Anyone ever seen a tunnel done up in the yellow/black/red Pennzoil scheme? If so, got pics?

                      Rick

Damn, sorry about that. I will have to really wrap the next hull in the "big bubble" bubble wrap, about 4-6" thick should do it...

Dang, I REALLY like that black hull. Could you throw in some bow on and transom shots? Need a little more photographic justification to convince myself...

Once I get my electronics fiasco resolved or sell my lipos I will have a tough time resisting. I have $43.98 in my paypal and want to offer you more. Thanks, J
