Just make sure to check the polarity when you attach to the ESC. I have heard that people have had "issues" when they have hooked it up backwards. Also you will need to have the middle red wire coming from the ESC connected for the programmer to work, in case you have disconnected it.
    Happy Boating..........

you should only connect the red wire for programing and then hook it back up when using its bec
or leave it disconnected when using external battery pack correct?

Yes, you are correct. I was using mine with a 6S lipo so I had disconnected the red wire and used an external BEC due to the higher voltage. Hobby City says that the BEC should be disabled when more than 3 lipo cells are used.

Yes it will, I never had mine even get hot and that was when it was pushing a KB 8XL in a 32in mono. Of course it was water cooled as well.

Here is the link with some info on Hobby City's website.

I never did a build thread on it. It was might first brushless conversion.
The hull is a 32" Aeromarine Scorpion mono with a KB 8XL on 2ea AirPower 3S2P 6400mah lipos in series. I was using the Hex120 with a UBEC and a Graupner Carbon Fiber 40mm prop. The only things that got kinda warm were the motor and the batteries (around 130 degrees). I never GPS'd it with that setup but I would estimate it was running at about 40mph. It is a heavy boat. It originally came with a CMB .21 nitro motor in it. I think I blew the Hex 120 when I connected it to a bad motor and it smoked a FET on the ESC.

I am now running an Feigao 11XL on 6S with an water cooled/Fan Cooled HM200A ESC and a Grim Racer 40x52 prop. It runs less than 120 degrees motor and batteries and about 40 - 45mph. I am still tuning it though, I am hoping for 50mph.
