    Blackjack 29 V3 (no electronics)

UPDATE: I made the repairs myself!

I bought this Blackjack hull for a friend so he could run with us at the shootout next summer. The hull arrived damaged and I have too many other projects to complete this winter.

The left sponson tip was chipped where it poked through the cardboard packing and the right tip has a paint rub mark. The chipped tip was filled with JB Weld and dyed black. Epoxy resin and chopped carbon fiber were poured into each tip from the inside for reinforcement.

The transom was cracked where the rudder bracket mounts, it too was hit from the outside. The fiberglass at the transom was still solid and did not push in or out as if it were completely broken free. A piece of carbon fiber plate was cut and epoxied to the inside of the transom and clamped overnight. Epoxy resin and chopped carbon fiber was also applied around the transom plate from the inside. The indent on the outside of the transom was sanded and skimmed with JB Weld. The holes were redrilled through all of the reinforcement and longer hardware installed with the strut and rudder mount.

The small chip on the rear ride pad corner was filled in with JB Weld. The two cracks along the rear hatch opening lip were closed with CA glue and reinforced underneath with JB Weld. There are still two small chips and a gelcoat crack on the outside corner of the middle ride pad. The sponsorship decals have been removed from the hatch. I removed the hatch lock from the hull before repairing the transom and the cub broke. A new hatch lock will need to be installed.

The good: this is one of the thickest fiberglass layups I've seen on a Proboat V3 cat (Geico or Blackjack). The deck on this hull is easily two times stiffer than that of my Miss Geico V3 hull, demonstrated by simple thumb pressure. It's a solid hull with plenty of reinforcement around the seam. The ride pads have nice, sharp inner edges. The hatch fits well. The paint is in good shape. No burned electronic smell inside.

Included: hull, hatch, electronics and motor mounts, battery trays/straps, strut, rudder, steering push rod w/ rubber bellow, cooling hose, and antenna mount. No electronics included. Needs hatch lock as well.

$110 via paypal plus the cost of UPS ground shipping to your address from 60618. I get a discount using my work account. The box will measure approximately 34x20x10 and weigh 8lbs. I just shipped an bare Zelos hull in a much larger box at 12lbs for $35. For sale on other forums as well.
