King of Shaves - Hatch wanted OR sell for parts

I picked this up on trade and I can't seem to find a hatch. There is a bit of damage on the rear side of the boat but the electronics are in good working condition. The damage is shown in the photos and hopefully shouldn't be to hard to find.

I would like to either buy a hatch and fix this myself

    OR

Sell this boat to someone interested in fixing the hull and buying or fabricating a hatch for it.

I'm willing to pay $30 for a hatch if you have one.

I'm willing to sell the boat as you see in the photos, with all electronics (tested and working) for $200 shipped.

Well hot damn, what do you know. I've been out of RC boats for awhile now, but I've been thinking about picking up another boat to putter around with off and on. I've scoured the Ole interweb looking for a KOSC1, but there isn't one of vailable anywhere. I did find an old listing for a hatch through a Venom dealer website for $99 but they were discontinued just like the boats the parts and everything else.

I've always wanted a king of shaves, and it looks as though this may be a last chance to get one. I think we may be able to work something out. As far as the damage goes, are you referring to the little bit of damage in the back left corner ?

I almost purchased a hatch for this boat on ebay...but it went for $55 and I opted to wait.

The only damage to the hull was the back rear corner, which is shown in picture 4. Everything else appears to be in good shape. I can take more pictures for you if you like. I've tested the electronics and everything is in good working condition. I haven't been able to test the receiver, other than to see it powers on, because I don't have a compatible transmitter.

I have a box that should be the perfect size and I still have an entire roll of bubble wrap so it will arrive safely. :)

Not sure if your willing to part it out but I'd be interested in a motor and esc.

It's all good. If I can get that for $200 shipped I think we can get'r done. In the meantime I think a sheet of clear lexan or carbon fiber from Steven shaped to fit would make a nice hatch cover. When you get a minute get a measurement of how big that hatch would need to be and I'll see if Steven has a sheet of carbon fiber big enough to get it done. Thanks

Ok I've held off posting that I have a hatch that would fit the KOS but what I have is a hatch from it's sister boat Atomik C1 . . .exact same boat with exact same hatch and it's brand new still in it's package. If you look it up the only difference is the color scheme where mine is white, yellow and black not blue but if you don't mind the color it's the exact same hatch. . .brand new.. .then maybe you can paint it blue but it might look real cool with the C1 hatch on the KOS hull. If you are willing to go $75 shipped then I will consider selling it. I bought two of these for a spare for mine since I have two of the Atomik C1 which is the 34in version since it also comes in the 58" version which I also have. I paid $75 plus shipping for each at that time and I believe they were going for $99.99 on Atomik's website. Since I have two I'm willing to sell one but I'd like to get what I paid for it. Mind you I've seen it go for over $100 since it is hard to get. Let me know if anyone is interested and I can send pics

Bwhahahahahahahaha . It's funny that you should say that because I just located another hatch for it from its 3rd sister boat, the 34" venom Segad C1 out of London United Kingdom for $105 shipped.
Since I have the $ to buy the boat I may as well buy the hatch from you as well. That would save me the hassle of making one or ordering that one out of London. Thanks

I've held off selling mine because over the past I've seen used ones sell for well over $80. .USED with some cosmetic flaws. I actually saw one seller selling one for $199.99 or best offer on eBay. That's totally ridiculous but there were 2 people watching and sure enough a few days later it was gone. I don't exactly know how much it sold for but if it did sell for $199.99 then I thought maybe I should do the same. However, I have two C1s and with my luck I would lose a hatch on one of them right after I sell it. lol That's why I was reluctant to post it for sale and just hold on to mine. Maybe one day it might command a real high price due to it's rarity and high demand, then I would have some regrets if I do sell mine. I can't believe there are actually people out there willing to pay big bucks for it. It truly is getting very hard to find one these days and mine is Brand spanking NEW.

Yep, it's like George Carlin says, some people are really fkn stupid. Or they have a pocket full of cash and chit' for brains. Luckily in today's age of 3D printers the prices of them have come so far down that the average person can afford one at home now. 3D printers are starting to take the RC World by storm because a crap load of people are getting into printing their own replacement parts. I'm actually planning on buying a tevo tarantula 3D printer myself for $100 and setting it up at home just so I can start printing out some of my own replacement parts for things that have been discontinued like my 1/8th scale XTM rigs. Printing out replacement boat hatches will be a no-brainer.

The hatch opening is 11 3/4" by 7".

I took some more pictures of the boat to show the extent of the damage to the rear of the boat as well as the spider cracking that extends out a bit. The other side of the boat has an area where paint chipped off but the hull is not damaged.

This rcgroups user told me I could purchase a new 32" hull and hatch for $80 but he never provided specifics. If he responds back with that information then I'll share the information here as well.
