Proboat Shockwave 26 V3 - lots of upgrades

    SOLD

Up for sale is my Proboat Shockwave 26 V3 boat. The boat has been heavily modified to fix all of the original factory flaws. I have over $200 in parts alone on this boat as it sits. it was a fun project, but I don't use it any longer and needs a new home This is an excellent boat to start with and has room to be modified further with a larger motor and better prop.

The small plastic motor mount was replaced with an aluminum Kintec Racing mount. The new mount pushes the motor back and makes room to use a stainless two piece motor collet. The stock collet was out of balance and known to crack when tightened properly.

The thin aluminum stuffing tube that wears out at the strut after only a few runs was pulled out and replaced with a proper K&S 1/4" brass tube and teflon liner. A new Kintec Racking .150" upgraded flex shaft was installed along with a custom Aquacraft strut bushing and modified strut mount. The new setup spins freely with no vibration and will not wear out and bind up like the stock boats will. The new strut is setback further from the transom than the stock mount, allowing the prop to run in cleaner water. The rudder mount was replaced with a Recoil 26 mount to move it further away from the transom as well, putting the leading edge of the rudder closer to the prop hub. The longer stuffing tube also allows for some trim angle adjustment as there was no adjustment in stock form.

The rudder has been sharpened and the bottom edge is tapered to eliminate lift at top speed. The rudder cooling passages were drilled out to improve water flow and larger cooling hose was used throughout. The original press fit water outlet on the side of the hull was replaced with a larger diameter threaded outlet.

Larger adjustable turn fins and trim tabs were installed in place of the smaller, non-adjustable original pieces.

The original 30A ESC was replaced with a 120A Hobbyking water cooled ESC and an EC5 battery plug was soldered on. I ran the boat with a larger 6pole motor from the Blackjack29, but the original 2000kv 4 pole motor has been reinstalled. The motor wires have larger 5mm bullets installed.

The hull is in excellent condition. There are a few minor scratches on some of the decals. I always dried off the boat with an air hose after each run and got a stream of air under the front deck decal which caused it to rip. The decal is all still there and the hull underneath is not damaged. It never bothered me enough to peel it off. You can do so if you want. The flexshaft was pulled, cleaned, and regreased after every outing and the entire boat was wiped down and dried off.

Included is the original box and all packing, transmitter/receiver, stand, manual, and stock prop. All that is needed is a 2s or 3s lipo battery. This boat ran a best of 43.5mph with the larger Blackjack motor and upgraded x440/3 prop on 3s. The stock motor and prop will run closer to 33mph on 3s. Asking $170. I will ship either UPS or FedEx ground insured. I estimate the cost to be around $25, but will only charge you the exact rate to your address. The boat is for sale on other forums as well.
