I'm curious about a few things:

        1) Is this hull very similar or the previous version of the Lucas Oil / Motley Crew?
        2) What kind of run time do you get with that battery / motor set up?

        Thanks,
        Ken

Its the previous version of those/but there have been lots of changes. Runs one 3s battery at a time. I get about 6-8min.

How fast is it? I'm looking for my youngest son who is just learning.

Never put a gps on it, but I'd say somewhere around 30 with the 3s. You could always pick up some 2s lipos to slow it down for
                    Him until he's ready.

As the owner of a Lucas Oil, Motley Crew, and Wildcat EP I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in here. The Wildcat EP is a fun boat, love mine, but it has no relation to the Lucas Oil/Motley Crew other than the fact it is a catamaran.

The hull is ABS plastic, not fiberglass, its also several inches smaller. However, considering the speed its capable of, it doesn't need to be made of fiberglass.

It uses a small outrunner brushless motor, not the 36mm cans like the bigger boats.

Top speed is about 25 - 30 mph instead of the 45 - 50 mph you will get out of Lucas Oil, but it runs on 3S batteries, I would say no larger than 4200 mAh (173mm in total length) or it won't fit properly on the lateral battery tray in the hull. You will get about 7 - 8 minutes at 100% throttle on that size battery assuming you stop running at 25% lipo capacity instead of running it down to the lv warning.

Its a good solid boat, water never gets in the double hull, and lots of fun!
