Hello all,
This boat just finished 1st at the MI Cup. This boat is a VERY GOOD runner. It's probably not the fastest boat out there, but can still hold its own out on the race course. I think there are plenty of people out there than can vouch for it's capabilities. The hull is an AquaCraft VS-1 that has been converted to use for FE. I bought and converted the boat from its new condition. Most important the hull riding surfaces have been filled, flattened, and blue printed. I truly believe that is the main reason the boat runs so well.
The boat did suffer some damage during the MI Cup race. The damage didn’t and won’t affect the performance of the boat. As a matter of fact, I finished 2 of the 3 heats at the MI Cup with hatch tape over the hole; meaning the damage isn’t on the planning/running surfaces. Picture shows the first coat of filler. I just finish sanding the initial and added another small coat of filler prior to posting this. All repairs and build was done using West Systems products.
This boat is currently outfitted with the following:
Aquacraft VS1 with a FE conversion
O.S. Engines Lower Unit w/ flex oilier
Aquacraft 2030kv motor
Aquacraft 60amp Controller
Futaba S9351 Digital Servo
GrimRacer 5000mAh 40C battery pack
Modified 42X55 prop
6.5mm Bullets on all ends
Price is $425 within the continental US. (Lower will be removed for shipping)
