It's rated for 12s.. And def is good with 8s, the big joysway hulls come with the esc and are supposed to be run on 8s so it def will work for you on 8s.... It also uses the standard seaking/turnigy program box... So if you have a t180 same program box. Just helping here.

It depends on the setup. If you boat runs less than 130 amps, yes it will work with 8s. It also requires a rx pack or external bec circuit.

That's why seaking needs to build a true 8-12s setup for truly high amp setups
