I received mine and realized I can't use it with lipos. I should have done some research.

You said you can't?

You can use lipos however, the controller doesn't have an internal "cut off"

I asked that question to experienced members of Namba MMEU that race a stock SV27 class and use 4S lipos on this stock 45 amp ESCs. They looked at me like I was crazy and said no one in the club has ever had a problem with lipo on this esc.
They did explain the lack of a cutoff, but said the race they run doesn't come close to draining the batteries and/or you could add a shield or alarm.
