Joysway UH-1 (Project hull)

I spent 80+ hours reinforcing a Joysway UH-1 with Carbon Fiber, West System Epoxy, 2 part polyurethane foam and my friend found the one part of the hull I didn't reinforce!

I'm offering this hull as a "building project" for anyone interested in repairing it and having a really nice model. I'm keeping the motor, servo, ESC and all the upgraded running hardware components. I will include the original rudder system, original drive system (5mm Flex shaft, 60mm prop, 8mm collet, strut, engine mount), radio tray, 5" rails and water outlet.

The right rear side of the hull is gone...I believe it sank after being ripped off. The canopy is included and has a tennis ball size crack in the center...I'll take pictures of the canopy if anyone is interested in the boat.

The missing piece is a 3 dimensional curve and it's beyond my skill level (and desire) to fix. Hopefully someone will want a nice building project as this boat was a lot of fun when it was running. I can also include the Leopard 5692 1000kv 4D motor if someone is interested (for an additional $125...buyer only at this time please). All you would need to finish this boat (other than the obvious repairs) would be an ESC and you're back in the water for a fraction of the cost.

It's now a very solid hull other than the top portion that's now missing....should have put some carbon fiber in there as well I guess.

The radio box is completely waterproofed. The wooden rails are fiberglassed and epoxied in place...MUCH stronger than original. Foam installed everywhere I could to increase strength of the hull.

Any local interest in this boat? I'd like to see it run again but I just don't have the time or desire to fix it. I have about $200 in West System Epoxy, expandable foam and Carbon Fiber installed in this boat so it's a very sturdy hull...other than the top rear portions which apparently became the target point.

Engine mount, strut, prop, shaft, tube, 5" rails, waterproof radio box, rudder assembly....all included with the boat.

The Joysway shaft liner is a plastic tube...just as an FYI if you've never seen it.

Here is a link to the original build and the problems I encountered. The comments about the shaft were from the first UH-1 I had...the shaft I'm selling has never been used.

The strut, rudder assembly, shaft, shaft tube, collet, motor mount and I'll even throw in the stock servo which appears to be a non labeled hitec 645MG servo.

The collet may have stripped threads. Looking at them, I can't tell that they're stripped. But I remember trying to remove it from the stock motor and it pulled right off. I tried tightening the set screw just to see if it would tighten and it didn't want to grab. The quality control of joysway products makes me wonder if they used the wrong size set screw for the hole. :) The threads look fine.

I don't blame you. :) This was a great lesson learned for why NOT to buy Joysway products.

If anyone is interested, the servo works great, the motor mount is very solid, the rudder system works very well. I'd use the collet, shaft, shaft tube and strut in something that I don't really care about as quality is questionable.

I've got to imagine someone can find a use for the motor mount, servo and rudder system for $50!
