Pro Boat 1500kv Brushless motor (used)

    SOLD

I pulled this one out of a used Miss Geico 29. Opened it up because I couldn't turn the shaft by hand. Thought the bearings were bad, but I found a little crud growing on that exposed area of the rotor due to the salty Florida water it was run in. Cleaned it off and it spun freely, but I ordered new ceramic bearings for it anyway. They came in yesterday. I oiled them, easily pressed them in and re-CA-glued (as they are from the factory). Front cover is re-CA-glued (as it comes from the factory). Ran the motor for 5+ minutes at 1/4 throttle, unloaded, as per bearing manufacturer's suggested break-in procedure. And I also noticed what looked like corrosion under one of the bullet connectors so I cut the pink heat shrink off each one and checked (they were clean). Now there is black heat shrink in place of the OEM pink stuff.

    $40 shipped in the states.

    Thanks,
    Michael P.

How well do you think this would hold up to racing conditions

I ran one one 6s, beat the crap out of it everyone I took it out, there tough little motors, only thing that killed mine was it was old and had been sunk a few times before i ran it on 6s and rust finally killed it.

I honestly have no idea. I have no experience with these Pro Boat motors.

This motor can't be used for racing, the bearings have been swapped to ceramic and is no longer in factory provided condition. Certain clubs may allow it. In unmodified condition this is a great choice for p lim 1/10 th scale sport hydroplane. Rpms are a little low for p limited cat, sport hydro or hydro classes

The original bearings are also included, which have been cleaned and given a thorough oil bath (in case anyone wants to remove the $15 ceramic bearings). They're actually a little noisy.

Deal. I don't want to be responsible for selling something that could be defective. I've tried to get as much feedback on this motor as possible in bench testing. If anything goes wrong with it, just let me know & we can work it out, no problem. And we'll go with $22 since it & the ESC from the other thread can go together.

                      Thanks,
                      Michael P.

is the coverplate threaded, I looks like it is on the picture or is it glued.
                        thanks

The font cover on these motors threads on and they are CA glued from the factory. With the right tools, the front cover comes off fairly easily by hand and once threaded back on, CA glue can be applied to the threads easily through those large cooling ports.

Motor and esc came together today and they appear to be in pretty good shape. Bench testing good and installed in poor old Miss Gieco. Now the girlfriend has a boat and I won't cry when she flips it!

Thank you and thanks for working with me on the shipping!
