Hello Guys,
today I have for sale a pretty well known boat here. Its the former SAW boat from Catpower/Jörg. Its a HPR 135 painted by Brusherandy (Berlin) in the Catpower Racing design. The hull is a custom production from HPR, I think "tank" describes it pretty good. Its got massive Sandwich reinforcements including canopy and tunnel which makes it way stronger than a stock bulletproof hull. Also the tunnel geometry and aerodynamic is modified for less lift at high speeds. Which is a good think in my eyes.
Its also the 2nd catamaran which did a 125mph+ run, that was already in 2009. At the German SAW competition in Duisburg 2009 it ran a 130mph GPS and sadly just a 124.4mph through the traps as top heat.
For the good things:
-extra-tough hull with reinforcements
-modified aerodynamic for maximum performance at high speeds
-decent mount system by Catpower for LMT 3040 engines.
-nice HPR hardware, red anodized. Propshafts with DogDrive extension and 6.35mm DD (never existed as stock part)
For the bad things:
-several scrachtes/cracks in the paint and in the GelCoat
-lipo mount system should be replaced with a new one
-deck support needs to be reglued at one side
-cracks left & right at the tunnel entry edge
-drive bearings need to be changed.
Miscanellous:
Catpower-emergeny cutoff, 10 to 6.35mm LMT couplers, modified LMT 30 series rear support, hull with foam and deck support in the front, hatch lock system 6x M3 screw, ESC mount for cable ties and velcro at the side wall.
Who is looking for a perfect built and painted boat for driving around and who complains about a scratch is completely wrong here. Who wants to make a serious 125mph attempt at home or at a SAW competition and is looking for a good basis is right. Boat has proven several times to be capable of 125mph+. But time didnt pass without signs, definitely a few things have to be done but nothing dramatic and with very reasonable effort.
What else do I have:
-pair LMT 3040/10 LK: brand new, just unboxed one and try to fit a LMT rear support for a test. With 3040/10's Jörg ran the 125+ that days.
-pair PropShop: SAW props from Catpower, type is not visible any more, they have 1/4" DD. They have 2.34" diameter and are extremely well machined. I would say those are reduced PS 6516/2 with some tweaks but I'm not 100% confident. But they definitely suit to the RPM of the 3040/10 on 12S and are perfect for SAW purpose.
-pair Schulze 40.161WK: Version incl. additional caps directly from Schulze. One ESC is absolutely new, the other one got connectors soldered. If they are fine for >125mph I can't say, myself I've never driven the future XL ESC's.
prices:
-hull w. hardware & brand new Savöx SC1256TG servo: 1750$ plus shipping
-pair LMT 3040/10 LK NEW: 1080$ plus shipping
-pair PropShop SAW Props RTR: 200$ plus shipping
-pair Schulze future XL 40.161WK (1x new/1x connectors soldered): 960$ plus shipping
-full package: 3900$ plus shipping
regards,
Manuel
