    Traxxas Spartan

Got another boat and need to sell this one to fund upgrades on the new one.

Stock Castle VXL-6s Speed Controller – (Brand new- Traxxas replaced it under warranty but I have never even connected batteries to it except for testing before posting it for sale.)
Stock Castle 2200kv Brushless Motor with aluminum water jacket. (Bearings have been replaced and there are 4 extra bearing that will come in the package deal.)
    SpeedMaster 3/16th Strut
Jeff Wohlt .078” Wire Drive with 3/16th shaft.
    5mm to .078” Collet
Inner and outer trim tabs installed (Inner ones are adjustable - See Pics)
Quick release latched installed on hatch.
    Traxxas Link 2.4Ghz Transmitter

I got tired of grease getting all over everything so I made a couple of pieces that catch the grease and are easily removable. The piece for the top is held on by two magnets so getting to the collet is easy, you just pull off the little plate I made and that’s it! It holds on securely and does not come off until you want it to.The bottom piece is held on by two screws since you don’t really need to work on the electronic tray from the bottom very often.

The only thing wrong with this boat is that there is a crack that’s been epoxied from the inside and does not leak. (That part of the boat isn’t even in the water at any time.) It’s in the front section of the hull on the curve of the v line of the hull, a few inches from the front of the boat. (See Pics) I epoxied it shut then just ironed on some ultracoat as best I could to make it less noticeable.

I had a metal prop on it at one point, I think a Prather 220, and was able to get 58mph on 6s lipo packs on the stock motor and ESC. I think I was down wind and in a little bit choppy water that day but I couldn’t believe it!  The Garmin I had in it doesn’t lie though.

    Also included:
    Manaual and Decal sheet
Stock strut and bolts (The strut has green tape on it in the pics. It's holding the bolts for the strut in place so they aren't lost)
    Stock collet and flex cable
Jeff Wohlt wire drive that’s compatible with stock strut (used this setup for a while before I installed the Speedmaster Strut)
Drive dog and prop nut that are compatible with stock size shaft diameter.
    Boat stand
    Extra receiver
    2 stock plastic props
    Velcro battery straps
    Marine grease
2 – 7cell NiMh packs that came with the boat.
Plus a few other extra parts

$260 shipped to 48 contiguous states

This is the newer version with the Castle electronics.

No pics of the repair from the inside unfortunately. The Spartan has a hugh foam block that will not come out without destroying it. I can tell you that I held the crack apart with a screwdriver so I could pump some epoxy in with a syringe to seal it up. After it dried put it in a kiddie pool and weighted the front so that the repaired area was in the water. I let it sit for a day and no water leaked into the hull.

The place where I was running the boat has some large rocks around the edges. I slowed down to turn got to close to the rocks. Needless to say I learned my lesson and stay away from the shore till I'm ready to bring it in.
