Is that blue SV good for a boat newb?
I'm into planes and cars and would like to start in boats.
I'd like to share batts with my VXL to save costs. Can I use 14 cells in it without issue for sport use? Receiver pack required, I read? Or are lipos just that much better? I'd rather use my VXL packs to make it a little more economical and not have to buy a balancer and carry around tons of batteries.
What other mods does it have? And what usual required SV mods still need to be addressed?
What balancer/adapters do I need to charge the Firefox Lipos on my ICE charger?
Is salt water use okay on these? Any special care for that?
Sorry for all the questions. I've only spent the last 2 weeks reading on OSE.Jose R. - Miami, FL - Blue Aquacraft SuperVee 27

I like the 14 cells because I can use my VXL packs.
lol maybe with a deal I can't refuse. Is that setup all dialed in? Do I need to check for heat and monitor everything or is it a plug and go play type of setup? I'd like it conservative just to screw around for now. Maybe prop down to CF45? Don't wanna start out and learn with a ragged edge setup.
If you'd do $285 for the SV and the Firefoxes I'd probably bite.Jose R. - Miami, FL - Blue Aquacraft SuperVee 27

I have a CF 45 i can through in place of the CF48... It is plug and play and dialed in very nicely!
The Blinky I was researching a little. The instructions on it blow. I take it you plug the Blinky in and you use the battery main deans plug to the charger correct? You don't charge thru the balancing taps, right?
Yes that is correct,,, the instuctions that come in the pkg. are detailed...

With the lipos and the BJ motor, how's it run with either prop?
Which do you feel is better for the setup and which prop excels at what?
Just trying to make a choice between the two. Does the 48 get things too hot requiring breaks and such? Roughly what speeds are we seeing?
And lastly, why the switch from the stock motor? Is the BJ motor better?
Thanks, Rich.Jose R. - Miami, FL - Blue Aquacraft SuperVee 27

[QUOTE]Faster with the 48 and more run time with the 45... Niether got hot at all after 5-6 min runs....

I run a M445 most of the time, it it sharpened and balanced,,, little more speed, no heat issues, good run time 5-7 min...

Payment sent. I am having trouble finding an Astro Blinky. Everyone's out of stock and eBay seems to have a generic version. Are those okay?Jose R. - Miami, FL - Blue Aquacraft SuperVee 27
