No program box. The programming boxes on the FC site will work for this ESC though...I think they are around $20.

I have a 4082 1600kv leopard running on 6s right now with a seaking 180 I am looking to change to esc to something more and go for some SAW racing on 8 or 10. Do you think this esc would handle that or would it pull to many amps right off the bat? Just wondering if I would be better to go to a 300A instead.

A 300A would always be better than a 200A, unless weight is an issue.

I'm not sure...I've never ran one of these so I can't say how well they hold up.
However, I honestly couldn't tell you that a 200A, 300A, or any ESC will hold up under SAW conditions. If you push stuff that hard, you really just have to be willing to incurr some collateral damages. It's somewhat of a normal thing for SAW racers to go through components...it just comes with the territory when you run setups that are known to be well out of the efficiency range of a motor and ESC. Nobody makes an ESC that will consistantly hold up to that kind of abuse...sometimes it's just a roll of the dice...

I will tell you though, that you should have a lot more room with a 200HV (or 300HV) than you do with your current ESC.

Yeah, I think he quit making them when he came out with the 16/300. I'm not sure if the 16/300 is just an improved version of this ESC, or if it's all together different.

Oh I understand about cost incurred I was just wondering if you knew what kind of amps those motors can draw under those types of conditions thats all.

                I am thinking about this!

Your setup will have the potential to cause failure to any ESC. The question you need to ask yourself is in regards to how you want to approach this.

You can spend a lot more money on an ESC that may take a greater load before it fails...you would have a smaller chance of failure, but a larger loss should failure occur.

You can lessen the potential loss by buying a more affordable ESC like this one, but the possibility of failure may be higher.

I can't really tell you which one is the better choice. I can't give you a likely current draw for your setup without knowing the prop, hull, and ride attitude, and even then it would be a wild guess. If you're running something like a s230 or 648 I wouldn't be surprised if you're pulling over 200A already on 6s, and the power demand increase is exponential as you increase RPM with the same prop. The harder you load the motor, the closer it becomes to just acting as a short.
