Plettenburg 5 Turn 12 cell motor

I have a 5 turn 12 cell Plettenburg brushed motor. It’s used & in good running condition. It has brush cooling installed.
I do not know much about these motors other than they are the very finest brushed motors made. It has a 5mm shaft. I don’t know the motors numbers.

    Included is the following.

    A 3 turn armature.

    .150 coupler
    Custom water jacket.

I am looking for 50 shipped for this motor.

    Thanks for looking.

can this thing run on 6-12 cells or only 12 cells all the time?
if i run on 6 cells does it have to be water cooled? or can i run it by itself with no cooling?

I would thingk it will not do well on 6 cells with the 5T armature in it. It may run better on 6 with the 3T installed. I don'y know much about it.

Depends if it is a 290/20 or a 290/30 and if it is the Torque version. Most of the 20 series is fine with 4T on 8 cells and a 632 prop on smaller hydros....this was the std a few years ago and could not be beat.

the 30 series is larger Dia and can take the prop since it is a torque version...not all are...it will say it. I can't see the pics so not sure but that is a good price.

The 5T will take 12 cells no problem.

I run my 290/30/4 on 12C in a hydro with 642 and it can keep up and out run many BL set ups. One reason...I can prop up even more and not wory about the ESC like the BL.

These motors are tanks. Good luck finding brushes for them but I do have extras and endbells. The love the amps so good cells and ESC is a must.

I have not run them in monos but plan on it. They should be fast in monos

Dan was usually pretty good to his motors.

Just cool it and cool the brushes if you can. As I said...good cells (MIN 3300) and at least a 207D Astro ESC or the RC Hydros preferred.

i plan on using a rc hydros esc. experiment with 6 cells at first then move on to 12 cells. is it bad if i use red tenergy 4500 6 cells?
