MSD Ignition system...... Cheap !!!

Hey everybody,
Most of the boat guys I know, are hot rodders and gear heads as well.

I bought a sweet MSD ignition system for my t-top trans am. Only thing is, I shot myself in the foot when I bought it. I found out from the technicians @ MSD it won't work with my fuel injection system.

I only prepped for Install, and never used it.
Now its a $500 system collecting dust, and I am tired of looking at it. It will work with any carburetors and electronic ignition

Heya jason, good deal. If you have a carb and electronic ignition (HEI distributor) it will work fine. It wont work with my tuned port injection system, because it don't have a pointa lead on it, like the old style boxes do. We got a guy with a S10 here named EVOL. We stuffed a vette' 350 w/ 4 spd in it with a box like this in it. That thing rips!!!

I can't use the airfilter. I have 10 psi of boost so I have to have an enclosed air intake between my supercharger and throttlebody.

Heya Jason, I forgot to tell you, this works with both style HEI units. The early coil in cap, and newer external coil HEI's too.

I did not have time to contact msd today... If you can sell it to someone else go ahead. I read on a forum that this unit can be sent in to msd and modded to fit my truck but want to make sure before I pay for it.... I will call Monday.. Thanks Jason

Hello, I already checked with msd, it can be modded to work with fuel injection, or old skool points distributors for about $40, this will help ya.

Sorry, just trying to help bro, This will run any gm ignition system, except the DIS system (distributor less ignition system) with multiple gel pack coils. You don't want to see the price of a dis box, thats scary !!!.

just checked with autozone and oreilly. you have 1 coil, distributor and a crank trigger ignition w/ fuel injection. So your in luck, it will work, it just needs modded for $40
