Delta Force Sniper 45 w/ SpeedMaster Hardware

Delta Force Sniper 45 Gas Mono with SpeedMaster Hardware.

As you can see from the pictures, this boat is ready to drop in your power system and radio gear. Includes .250" flex cable, radio box w/ servo mounting, T-Bar, Isolator mounts, 500ml IV Bag with lines, filter, etc...

Setup for Gizmo Dropped motor mounts.

Center section of hull has been reinforced with 5.5oz Carbon Fiber, and side seams have been filled with 2lb 2-Part expanding foam.

I reworked the keel to get rid of the rounded ride-pad area and make it a true V. Handling and predicatibilty were GREATLY INCREASED with this modifiation. Boat runs fast, stable, and is predicable now, without the erratic bow-steering behaviour that these boats tend to exibit.

Boat is solid, and looks good. Hatch cover is in OK condition, with some evidence of use. Hull is in good condition and ready to go racing with!

$265.00 shipped in the USA (Shipping will likely be in the $60-65 range)

I have a fresh Zen G260PUM motor listed in another posting that I would be willing to make a package deal with if you wanted to pair these up.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Here is the thread where I originally built this one up: http://www.jrcbd.com/showthread.php?t=42998

    PayPal or Money Order.

    Thanks for looking...

I no longer have the motors... the hull is still here. I can package it up and get an idea of what it would cost to shop it to Singapore, if you are still interested. Can't imagine that's going to be an inexpensive shipping, however... Aren't these hulls MADE there??

Hi Darin, I was hoping for an ARTR set-up with engine + manifold + pipe, that would rationalize the higher cost of shipping.

Anyway, please let me know if you know the estimate packed weight. I can check this chart of USPS Shipping Charges to Singapore, as a quick reference for shipping cost.

        Thanks!

The package is going to be at least 48 x 15 x 15 (Hull is 44, + hardware length ~ 3-4" with rudder removed), and will likely weigh in at 15lbs+... From what I'm seeing, the shipping will cost more than the boat.

I'm considering just hanging onto this and perhaps converting it to FE use, if no one wants it. Not sure about the $$$$ of power systems for S/T Mono/Offshore, but I may look into it. It's too sweet of a boat to just give away or leave sitting... especially now that the keel has been modded and the boat actually handles well...

I'm curious why your keel needed modding. Many guys are running these as FE and they handle beautifully.

So they claim... Every one of these that I've seen in race water hunts, and does very erratic things (jump lanes, bow-steers, etc.) when real power is applied and in race water. Someone will have to explain to me how the dynamics in the water of a large width, rounded keel, make for a consistent handling race boat?

In smoother water, all alone, they don't do too bad. You have to drive them full-tilt all the time to keep them on top of the water... as soon as they settle down a bit (you ease off the gas, or slow, etc.), they hunt, dart, bowsteer...

That's been my observation and experience thus far. It also happens with all of the smaller ones, except for the 26", but that kind of makes sense... as you scale down, the rounded ride pad fades away.

Changing this on mine made a DRAMATIC difference in the drivability, handling, and predictability, allowing the boat to be driven in traffic, and under real race conditions.

Perhaps with the extra weight of FE, that helps keep the hull in contact with the water?? Not sure. This was run as a gas boat, which isn't as heavy.

Either way, I've never been a fan of "ride-pad" boats, and rounded-ride-pads don't make any sense at all to me.

So... I changed it, and improved the package.

Larger/longer tabs on this particular boat would help as well... the tabs that are there are marginal for controlling the boat at full speed, but work fine in the turns, etc. Mainly the lower ones...

Darin you care to take a picture of the bottom and maybe elaborate on the changes you made - I have two Snipers and yes they can be a little dicey in rougher water but it is one of the best handling hulls I have ever had running in full FE trim . I find it virtualy impossible to flip this hull under normal use even cornering on a dime......( calmer water )

Nope... I still have it. Was thinking of keeping it and converting to FE, since one one purchased it. Shipping costs are the real problem with selling. Damn shipping is around $70.00 last time I checked.

Here you go... it's a very, very large improvement in handling, in my opinion. Doesn't have the darty tendencies anymore, and is much more predicable. Corners like it's on rails...

Then yours must have had the bottom modified as well...

I actually have another full-hatch for it. Ken Haines gave it to me after flipping his boat and deciding to buy a new hatch rather than trying to fix the original one. It's yellow, and a little banged up, but I was going to do the minor repairs to it and use it for the FE conversion.

                              Yup...

It's more than that, however... The bottom was trued and the new, sharper V was extended forward.

When someone shows me a water-ski or flat bottom boat that can handle a decent chop, I'll believe that trying to run a boat in race water with a ride-pad makes sense. In the meantime, I'll stick with what actually works for me...
