Proboat BlackJack 26 Brushless Upgraded Hardware Near Mint Condition

    SOLD SOLD SOLD

Selling my Proboat BlackJack 26 Brushless.

Upgraded the running hardware with a setback strut and inline rudder, I forget who makes it. Prop is an Octura 642 I think, again, I forget which one I bought, but it flies.

Built a marine ply standoff to push the prop and rudder even further back, handling is amazing. The only time I have a problem with the boat flipping is if the rear comes out of the water (like going over a wake) and then the prop grabs and whips the rear around when it comes back down. Really planted in the turns.

Built dual water pickups to independently cool the motor and speed controller. The rudder also has a water pickup as well, for now it's just producing a cool water jet up from the rear of the boat when running.... :)

Stock receiver, esc, motor, and servo.

Boat is in immaculate condition, bottom is flawless. I repainted the rear section black, it's a 5 footer (just the rear section) if you know what I mean, could use a wet sand and refinish, there are very minor sanding marks visible in the paint, and a couple spots where the paint did not lay exactly flat, but when it's flying by at 50mph you can't tell lol.

I have a video I took last year when I first installed the new hardware, before I did the final repaint on the rear section, keep in mind I was not trying to hotshot for the camera, this was just a first shakedown run to make sure the thing didn't come apart. I have at least 2 dozen runs on the new hardware now, dead on reliable and handles great.

Turn fins not installed but they do come with the boat, they are shortened by about 3/4". Do not need them with this prop setup.

Any questions just let me know. $275 shipped in the US, firm.

    Video, this is on 4S Zippy 20C 5000mah lipo. (2 X 2S)

Pictures attached, taken today after a nice run.

            Lol don't be a hater.... :)

I needed to take up some space between where the thread ended on the prop shaft and where the prop sits. It was due to a miscalculation when I ground the flat for the prop drive collar set screw.

I was planning on installing a new flex shaft eventuallyand but since I decided to sell it I'm not going to bother. I did not notice any performance issues with it being there, but the buyer could install smaller washersif it bothered them, or install a new flex shaft.

haha lol nope not some secret NJ go fast bolt on, just had to do what I had to do, the old measure twice and grind the flat once saying...... :)

Thanks for the question though, other folks may have been wondering as well. Have fun.

FYI also, it's not a thrust bearing it's just a plain old 3/16" brass collar / bushing.

                  :)

Sent u an email as well, but basically, you remove the prop nut and prop (or the rudder, but the prop is easier), then loosen the collar on the motor and remove the flex shaft from the boat. Once it's out, you should be able to tap the old bushing out of the prop strut. I was told that the bushing from an SV27 will work on that strut. If not, I have seen the entire strut with new bushing on ebay for about $20 now and then, which is only $5 more than the SV bushing alone from Tower Hobbies.

Good luck with the boat. I saw in your email to me you were also disappointed in the speed, but I also remember you saying that you were going to run Nickel batteries in it. I ran two 7-cell nimh 3300's in the blackjack a few times, the difference in speed was substantial compared to the two 5000mah 2-cell lipos I usually ran.

Mods, the boat is sold, you may close this thread if appropriate.

                        Thanks!
