WTB SV27 motor and esc

I am looking for a SV 27 motor and esc for a TS2 project
I only have the hull so I am also looking for a lower leg also

In our local club we have a tunnel class for this year (when the ice melts) and we have decided to only use the SV motor and esc

If I can not find used I will buy new but thought I would ask fist

I had one pm and was a little slow and missed a motor and esc with cooling for $100 (another guy in our club ended up with it )

David, we are not spec'ing our esc's
the esc's on these motors are the weak points, with a new esc you could get a bit more mph out of them
if you can get just a motor and then like a CC80 or something like that it would be more worth it

Is the CC 80 compatable with the SV motor ? Anyone tried it ? If so, I'll be looking for a SV motor for my LSO rig.

Yes, I ran a CC80 in my SV27,, Ran it on 2S2P lipos... Ran just a little faster than stock!!

Thanks ! My budget's a little stretched after the TS-2 build, I have a CC80, and they're allowing an SV powerplant in LSO at WW IV. I'll have 4 boats entered if I can get either the Drifter [ fast] or OM 26 [corners !] rigged for LSO. That is, if the CC80 can be approved by the race commitee.

The SV27 motors I've seen run on CC ESCs tended to warm up a little more than with the SV27 ESC... Trying to switch a 6-pole motor I imagine had something to do with it... so keep an eye on Motor AND ESC temps for the first few runs...

Darin, I am sorry if I am wrong on the 2S2P??? I run 2/ 3700mAh 7.4V (2S1P) Lipo packs... I thought that running 2- 7.4V packs is 2S2P?? Sorry if I am confused today!!

It ran 1-1.5mph faster with the CC80... I dont temp my SV everytime I run, but it never shows more than 120 deg on a long run, when I do temp it...

if they are wired in series ( black wire to red wire to join the two packs ) it is 4s1p.
4 cells in series

Yes... that makes more sense...

The SV27 ESC Y-Harness puts the two packs in SERIES... so it'd be 4S1P and 3700mah...

It would definately be faster... and lighter! Those packs have a charged and loaded voltage of about 3.9-4.0V/cell, so nearly 16V for the pack... compared to about 1.1 to 1.15V/cell for a NiMH, so only about 13.8V... That's at least another 3000RPM or so...
