    Feeler Thread - Prop Circles

Just checking to see if there would be any interest in these. They would be used to check the size of your propellers.

They are 3/16" thick steel, lazer cut (very accurate) and would be primer painted. There are no marking on them but I am trying to see if I can get them etched to show the diameter of the circle. The plate shown has circles starting at 25 mm diameter and goes up to 46 mm. I plan on making another plate for bigger sizes.

First, is a worth while prouduct?
Second, how much are you willing to pay?

honest opinion -- unless the prop hub is able to be centered its not an accurate way to measure a prop, tip to tip may show 42mm but center to tip on all blades may show different things, even if the plate holes are true.
as a "I wonder if" gauge--- is this prop 42 or 45mm and the numbers happen to be worn off both props It would be ok for that

neat idea, but I would just use a dial caliper, smaller lighter.

Good point. I have been using it to just check the diameter.

That's pretty much how I've been using it.

Yes I've tried that too but have had and especially hard time measuring 3 bladed props.

Get with Kevin Sheren he used to make a nice caliper set-up for measuring props.

Maybe a single disc with graduations of 0.5mm each graduation. Put a centershaft in it so you can see which blade is incorrect.

I think I would buy one if you made it that way. Can't cost too much to laser etch something in Aluminum or steel and a 3/16" pin that could be changed to 1/8" or other sizes.

You could even just put a hole in the center so you can put a prop with it's balancing shaft in it while you work on a prop.

How about that?? Make it 1/4" thick

                              You got it all wrong it's R x 2 not 2 x R
