    Highly modified traxxas Spartan

Not for sale going to keep
    Highly Modified Traxxas Spartan

This traxxas Spartan can potentially do 60+mph on 6S lipo setup with the right prop. It has been heavily modified.

A modified speedmaster dual pickup rudder to supply separate cooling lines to the motor and esc. With and additional water outlet so there is a stream of water exiting each side if the boat. One side is the motor the other the esc. Larger 1/8 diameter silicon cooling lines supplying and exiting everything. Turnigy 180 amp marine esc powering a Leopard 4082 4pole 1500Kv motor with matching cooling jacket. EC5 connectors on the ESC battery leads. The driveline has been replaced with a piano wire drive system . Octura 5mm to .078 copuler on the motor shaft connected to a .078 piano wire drive with a 3/16 prop shaft on the end. Going through a speedmaster 3/16 adjustable strut/stinger. The stuffing tube Teflon liner has been replaced with one from aeromarine. The hole where the stuffing tube exits the boat has been moved up 1/8” from the stock location to allow for a little better stability at speeds above 55mph. The inside lower transom was filled with epoxy and the stock mounting holes to allow to relocate the new setup. Everything on this boat was bought brand new and installed. Also there are traxxas blue anodized trim tab adjusters installed. I also have flotation installed on the canopy. You will need your own prop I am not selling the boat with my props. But I can suggest ones to get.

Comes with traxxas 2.4 Ghz radio system.

The canopy had damage where the pin holds it down on the back got busted. It has been repaired and is good as new. Also the inside of the hull in the back has been reinforced with epoxy along the top of the hull and transom meet. There are two cracks that are on the back edge lips of the hull inside that are underneath where the canopy sits. They have been repaired with epoxy from underneath as well. This was from a wreck on the water and the canopy got pulled off. But its all repaired and good now. Doesn’t affect the boat by any means.

I have video if the boat doing 58+ mph on a 2 blade prop that can be seen here.

The boat has done over 60mph with a different prop on the last test. But there is no gps record to say the exact speed because the gps got wet from using it in another boat earlier that day.

The video can be seen here.

Here is a listing of whats in the boat:

Spartan hull with stock turn fins, trim tabs & traxxas tab adjusters.

    Speedmaster dual pickup rudder

Speedmaster 3/16 stinger strut with new spare bushing still in package

    Leopard 4082 1500Kv brushless motor

Leopard 4082 matching aluminum cooling jacket

    Turnigy 180 amp marine esc

    Octura 5mm/.078 collet

    .078 – 3/16 piano wire drive

Additional water outlet for starboard side

    1/8” diameter silicon cooling lines

    EC5 battery connectors

I have put a lot in to making the boat what it is. Im kind of a catamaran person and dont really like monos. So I am looking to sell this & use the money in a CF cat I am currently building and also start another project.

At the moment I can also offer all the stock parts that came on the boat from traxxas. Motor, ESC, rudder, strut, flex drive, props, collet, silicon cooling jacket and one 3000mah nimh stick pack. for an additional $130
this is only sold at this price in a package deal. I will not sell the additional stuff for that price alone. But would sell the additional stuff outside the package deal if I had a decent offer on it.

Well, I'd say Justin is done. Its kind of sad but good luck with the sale. The boat is a quality "experimental" craft.

Same motor and esc thats in it for sale. that was testing a raw prop I did little work to because I wanted to see if it was worth finishing the prop. If I keep the boat I am going to finish that prop & run it.

Im not terribly hard up to sell it so the price is firm but fair. I do have a lot of time and money tied up in this thing. And Im glad to have been able to help everyone with theirs.

Excellent! You've invested too much in the boat, your time and creativity.

Creativity. Hummm. Big grin here. I've had an idea in the back of my head lately
I plan on doing an experiment on the hull later down the road and if my idea works i will be trying to get a patent on it and then see about using it on full size boats.
Im good friends with a gentlmen that owns a boat factory too. So if I can prove it works he will be interested in a full size prototype for lots of applications. Mainly racing.
